Out of the blue 2 years ago, I received a great offer (for me anyways) from the MLife marketing dept. it included 3 free nights in 2Br suite and $1200 in resort credits. I had 3 of these offers and used 3 in the year.

The following year, I received the same offer except the resort credit was now $800. And it included Cotto/Alverez fight and the Super Bowl party. I went to each of these events.

Now I'm not a big player. My bankroll for a trip is 5K. I play $1 and $5 slots. $50-$150 a hand for BJ and play the $25 craps table.

During last year's Super Bowl trip. I didn't play the slots very often. I still played craps and BJ. But most of my bankroll was at the sports book. Also, I complained about my suite (it was smoking) and the noise from the next room.

One week later, I received a terse email from the marketing host. Saying my future offers were revoked due to my play.

I still receive these offers in the mail. When I try to book the trip. The CSR puts me on hold then informs me that the offer is not valid due to my lack of play.

I'm now on the MLife sh&t list and don't know how to fix it.

    Thoughts?

You are going to have to increase your play. Sportsbook betting doesn't register very much as far as action goes.

You will have to go on your own dime, and play to a "level of expectation" and hope that you can make it up on the back end.

As far as I can tell, a 5K bankroll for a trip isn't "very much" for the amount of comps you were getting.

I never asked for the comps. I received the offers in the mail. I figured as long as they keep giving me the offers, I will take the trip.

Should I stop gambling at MLife? It seems like I'm persona non grata. Does this mean I'm black balled?

I'm staying at the Cosmo for Super Bowl. I never contact a host or set up deals for comps based on my play. I just use the up front offers. I don't want to gamble for the comps. I don't like the idea of being obligated to play so many hours a day for the comps. They offered the deals to me. I didn't ask them for the free rooms and food.

Don't bother. They have no idea what they are doing. You are way ahead. Time to quit.

It's really quite simple. They made you a teaser offer, and you didn't meet their expectations. What do you expect?

You are not "persona non grata". You are still eligible for offers, just not as much as you want/expect. Did you ask them what you could be offered?

yup, what DaiLun said.. they kept peeling it back to suit your action, and finally when you didn't suit them with enough play, they cut you completely off...
FWIW, with only a $5000 roll that offer was HUUUUGE...just move on from MLife and stay happy

They said even though the MLife website was offering me free suite nights at MB/Delano, they would not honor it until my play was at a higher level.

That isn't what I said, did you ASK them what they could offer you? If they couldn't offer you ANYTHING, then you were substantially overcomped.

$100 a night suite with $100 resort credit. This was the offer I booked through the website. The rest of trip I'm staying at Venetian -4 comped nights. No resort credit

Last year, they did say I was over comped. I told them I never asked for the comps. What was I suppose to say? No I don't want the free rooms, concert/fight tickets and food comps?

I don't know how bad you underplayed, but I never heard of anyone getting blacklisted by MGM like this.

This is what I asking. This wasn't an agreement with a host. I never met a host. I'll received mailings then I would book online. My second trip, a marketing rep (not a host) handled my fight tickets and concert tickets. Never once did they mention my level of play. I knew I was a small player. But I loved staying at the Delano and MB. Now I'm not sure if I'm wasting my time playing at MLife properties.

Will this affect me at other non MLife properties?

Good for you. You got overcomped (you owe them nothing, they bet you would more money than you did).

I don't really think you are blacklisted or anything. They just don't want to comp you anything up front. Guessing you had one epic trip where your coin in was massive, and that fed the offers.

I wouldn't worry about it. Talk to them about backend comps or go elsewhere and see what you get there. It likely won't be what you were getting, but it sounds like you were getting more than you "should" have anyway.

Its not a problem, just the end of an opportunity.

    Cool. Thanks.

I don't gamble for the comps. If I sit down at an 100 BJ table for 1K and double or triple $ in the first shoe. I walk. I hit and run. I either win or lose quickly. I don't grind it out for hours.

Probably. It's probably tied to your player account number, which goes across all properties.

I don't even really know how you fix it. Go pay for a room and play is what they're saying, but procedurally how do you go about getting the mark removed from your account. I dunno. Obviously you have one.

Chuck he said at non MLife properties, I think you read that wrong.

The other properties aren't tied into MLife's system so no it won't be a problem for you. I agree with Nevyn, did you have a big trip before you started getting that suite offer?

MLife's marketing department is not always in line with VIP services, I think that is where your main problem is. I would think if you like the MLife properties and want to continue to stay at them you would have to book and pay for a room. Play your standard play, knowing that sportsbook play does nothing for you other than pad your bankroll if you are a winner. If your play gets you back in their good graces great, if not it's time to move on. Maybe your play and stay at Cosmo will get you on their radar.

No problems caused at other properties at all. They only share info on card counters or cheaters. Don't worry about mLife. They'll give you smaller comps in the future if you're interested in keeping up your play and probably getting a couple weeknights at the Mirage and stuff like that.

You're right, I misread it. No problem outside MLife, not for something like this.

What you should do is get yourself a host. The corporate MLife Offers and marketing are not the same as having a host. Your bankroll is sufficient for nice offers if you are playing at your host property!
