Agree, but I also think their overall strategy is a bit incoherent. The casino is, at least in my opinion, still a bit stodgy-looking, but they've got all the younger-crowd events at Park Theatre and T-Mobile. Their restaurants are hit-or-miss as well; other than Bavette's, there isn't much I'd go there specifically for. I'm always pretty surprised at how busy Eataly is, though, given that much of their offerings are more grocery-oriented.

Well, I'm working on my MBA right now, and this is my thinking: It would make perfect sense if they're trying to corral players over to the higher-end resorts. There's lots of pent-up travel demand right now; the low-to-mid-tier resorts are probably getting slammed with the average tourist crowd, and they need to spread out their customers a little. They'll especially want mid-rollers and high-rollers to come to the more expensive resorts to drop money, so that's why they're offering juicier comps at those places for people they know will gamble.

    Re: NoMad

It's only one pool but you can also use the other pools the Park MGM guests use. Those people can't use the NoMad pool.

The floors and rooms are so different it would require a major renovation to convert.

It's fine. The VIPs can limo it over from their fancy condo, suite, or penthouse.

fair. I’m 100% certain that I gamble far more than the average Excalibur guest, tho I’m sure there are some super high roller people who might just prefer it there for whatever reason.

If I only got Excalibur and Luxor comps, I certainly wouldn’t stay with MGM. MGM Grand and Mandalay, maybe. Aria, I’m there and ready to take out a marker. But I’m sure I’m just a gnat in the roller-spectrum at Aria.

I honestly really dig Eataly, and not for their grocery market stuff. Their sit down place (not the fancy one… the normal one) has really amazing fresh pasta and great pizzas. Simple, but REALLY well done.

Pre-COVID I was there during black truffle season once and just got their basic buttered noodles with oodles of truffles shaved on top and it was heavenly. Simple, and heavenly. But even without truffles I like eating there for a simple, satisfying meal.

Best Friend, however, I don’t get. Went there twice. It was just ok. And the hipster costumes the staff wore annoyed me.

but I might even swing by Eataly this coming trip, even tho I’m staying at Encore. I’d much rather have Italian there than Sinatra’s, which is an over-priced Olive Garden IMO.

Oh don't get me wrong, I love eataly. They have the best prosciutto in Vegas. I just don't fully understand their target market or why it's so gigantic.

There is a lot more inventory at the higher end resorts. A lot of people that have gone during Covid are staying at the cheapest places possible.
