The most courteous staff in the poker business !
D629BD11-1C65-4821-935A-6F52E8C5A521.jpeg Just returned from a week in Vegas and I was reminded why the Mirage poker room is my favorite limit hold em room.

Their staff has always been considerate, accommodating and professional! When I arrived last week ( Sunday ) I asked for the Bills vs Titans game to be put on one of the TVs. 9 mins later it was on

Their football promos are an exceptional value. They give away 1,000 for each nfl game slot on Sunday (3k) , Monday and Thursday ( 1k each) . In addition they give 100/200/500 for high hands ( quads/straight flush/royals). This past Thursday a guy from New York ( Giants fan), who sat at our table, got 2 straight flushes and got his name called twice for the quarter draws ! Picked up nearly $1,000 while sitting at a 3/6 game

Plus Monday night there was also a Golden Knights hockey game. So when the GK score each table has $50.00 added to their next pot. Plus foot ball giveaways , plus high hands. Oh and BTW cracked aces from 9 am to 3 pm are included ( on non nfl game times )

The dealers are always appreciative of tips and I’ve never seen a snarky one. Debbie (from Buffalo ), Steve and others make a good room ... greater. With over a dozen flat screens spread around the room , there’s always a tv with your favorite team on it!

And yes , while the rake is sort of steep $2 jackpot drop and max of $5.00 for rake (10% up to 5), its still one of the best values on the strip IMHO!

When golden knights score , dealer adds this puck to next pot. Puck represents $50.00

Mark, from NYC was big winner Thursday night

I’ll be back during March Madness!

I could see as $3/$6 limit player this is the room and I’ve heard the same from others. I just miss the old room, which I thought was a really nice setup right next to a fantastic sportsbook. I also miss $4 rake.

This should be awesome for March Madness. Mirage probably no longer has a top five poker room but does have a top five sportsbook and you should see a lot overflow into the poker games.

I think this is differentiator for the smaller rooms trying to stay alive, the level of service.... I've seen similar from Mandalay Bay, which feels similar even though it gets a little more action.

I used to play there in the past with some success. I basically avoid MGM properties nowadays as I see them as the bandleader for nickel-dimming for Vegas visitors. Due to your post, I may give the Mirage some play.

Anyone know if the blind guy still plays there? He would have a guy that would whisper his holdings to him and would describe his opponents, “mid 30s looks married”, etc.

I did see a black guy at the Orleans last march who fit that description. His wife would whisper to him!

Just out of curiosity, about how many tables were going on Sunday during the game(s) ? And am I to understand they give $250 / Quarter for each game (Early / Afternoon / Night) ?

Also, does "Alaska Gal" still work there ?

    There were 2 3/6 tables and 2 or 3 1/2 tables

Payouts are $125.00 1st quarter, $250.00 halftime $125.00 3rd quarter and $500.00 end of game.

That’s for 3 games Sunday, 1 game Monday and Thursday .

I forgot to mention that the $$ is giving away via drawings. You earn drawing tickets, any day of the week for a straight or better. Dealer whips out a ticket and pen as he shoves pot to you. You put your name on one half of ticket and put that half it in a square glass box. You keep the other half as your proof. Box is emptied after Monday night Tuesday new tickets start. On non game days they give away $$ every 3 hours with a rollover if no one is there after 1st ticket is called. However on football games they call names until someone responds. Sometimes 10/15 names are called before a winner answers. Sometimes the first person they call is there !

Played in some tournaments here on my last trip. Didn't hit up any cash games but from the sound of it, I definitely will next week! Thanks for the info.

He stopped playing at Mirage maybe a year ago. I believe Hal plays at the Orleans now.

Just noticed this thread. I think "Alaska Gal's" first name is Christy, @Champster1. I played in a 4/8 mix game with her a few years ago at Suncoast. She seemed very nice and even offered me a ride back to the Strip after I said I took the WAX there to play, and it would stop running early.
