I was slightly concerned about possible hassle from TsA because of all the cash. And sure enough, the money flagged my bag for extra screening. The coins that is. I pointed him to the right pocket, and the guy inspecting my bag nodded to the screener and said “he doesn’t like coins, he only likes bills”.

I just kept my mouth shut.

Very much enjoyed the report from start to finish, especially the finish. Hopefully all the rest of us can have a heater like that to close out a trip. Have you booked your next trip yet?

Just wondering...hypothetically...if you were going to buy a Powerball ticket for the drawing on Wednesday, what numbers do you like????

Damn!!! Hard to leave when you are using the slots/VP as your own personal ATM.

    Good question. Let’s go with

    6 10 21 35 46, and how about a 23 for the powerball.

Realize I'm a little delayed on the wrap up for this trip- had to jump right back into work, including hiring a new associate, reading and responding to a week's worth of emails, finishing plans for a 50 person offsite meeting this coming week, learning an entirely new process that I'm taking over, catching up on everything my team is working on.... man, I need a vacation :)

First: thanks everyone for following along and your encouragement. Even if I don't reply to everyone, I read and appreciate all of your comments. Second, to address the windfall, still not sure what I'm going to do with it, although the wife gets her 10% cut, so she's quite happy. Probably not going to do anything extravagant, just paying some extra bills. Although, as a thanks to my wife for dealing with me being gone for so long (BTW: for those in snowy areas who have to travel, check out Snohub- it's uber for plows, and was amazing in clearing the snow while I was gone. Pricy, but well worth it for these situations), I did get her the platinum Tiffany wedding ring she's always wanted (she was very happy to be able to put on her Louboutins and walk into that store (she got many compliments on the shoes from those working in the store).

Obviously this was a great end to the trip, but leading up to it was rough. Poker went very well, but the quad drought was extreme leading into that last day. But that I can deal with, for me that's entertainment. Poker I take more seriously, and I'm overall happy with how I played, and happy with the results. Variance was a bit of a hit on the last day, but clearly made up for that in other ways :).

The Mirage was excellent as always, with the tower queen room, and a great view

I'm a bit torn for my next stay.... I love how the Mirage treats me, like the staff, the VIP room, my host, the buffet for breakfast, the location, etc. But, I find myself leaving the Mirage everyday and heading to the bellagio to play poker. and Aria and Cosmo to eat. The reduction of the $1 bartop paytables was also a disappointment. So does all of this mean I stay at Bellagio next time? I'm not sure... as there's also the crowds. It just becomes so crowded, I'm not sure I will enjoy staying there. I also will get half the resort credit, I have no host so don't think I will get the limo or the VIP room (assuming they have one?). Will need to think about this before the next trip.

Not sure when the next trip will be: the wife has a milestone birthday coming up in May, and still hoping we can go away somewhere for that. That makes another trip in June for the WSOP unlikely. One of my key employees is going out on leave in July to have a baby as well, so I don't see myself able to take any significant time off until she's back. However, I am just 50k tier points away from renewing platinum, which I'd like to do. So maybe I can figure something out.

Thanks again for following along, and can't wait for the next time!

Just got caught up......wow @Basil what a dream finish; congratulations! Bonus points for getting your bride a lovely ring!

Next month, when selecting machines to play, I will ask myself WWBD?

Thanks for the great trip report!

Yes, give these other places a try! Aria can be tight on comps but both Aria and Cosmo are much better properties than the Mirage in my opinion (and Bellagio, too). Aria or B at half of the resort credit > Mirage any day.

Uh oh. 8/5 DDB for dollars at the bar now? Did you check Bonus? 7/5 or 6/5?

Great report with a awesome finish! Thanks again!
