    My Trip Report

Given the 5x tier credit promo and the fact that a host tossed me $50 in freeplay, I headed over to the 'shoe yesterday. They have an interesting intake process there - entrance is separate from the exit. Can't go out the same way you came back in.. But it's not a significant amount of extra walking. They do a thermal scanner that looks like a metal detector at the airport. Hand sanitizers are plentiful.

Mask enforcement is nonexistent on the floor. People are selectively wearing masks properly.. Chin strap is common probably because they are smoking. If you thought masks would curb smoking in casinos, think again.

HH is big enough enough where you can socially distance without a problem but still have plenty of slot options. This is probably their only advantage over the riverboat-size casinos in Illinois.

Started off on old school 3 reel dollar slots... Some decent luck on the Double Diamond... Moved to the penny slots and it was a slow death from there. Hit the atm for an infusion - degen mode - and got on a hot streak that brought me 1200 in 30 minutes. Unfortunately, I was late in leaving so I cashed out but it was probably a good time to go.

For whatever reason, machines weren't taking a tito with $1200. Maybe it's some kind of rule?

Overall, I would probably not go back because of the smoke. It was gross. Maybe harrahs Joliet is next..

I really like Horseshoe but don’t go because of the smoking. Was at a harrahs joliet on wed and they did not take temp which I was surprised. About 98% wearing masks but there were a few playing the game of holding a drink in their hand and keeping the mask under the chin.

I could smell smoke coming from someone sitting 20 feet away.
    Circulation problems there for sure.

I don't remember it being particularly smoky in there. No more than any typical casino would be.

It is smoky if you are not used to being in smoky places, comparable to older casinos on the Strip. Certainly, enough of a factor to choose a smoke free IL casino but not particularly bad as large casinos go.

It's very smoky there + terrible air circulation = you'll smell the smoke from nearby gamblers.

Lol yeah. I'd much rather go to Shoe than Illinois, but the smoke thing definitely gives me pause now.
