    My Trip Report

We arrived back to San Antonio 'round midnight. Moving slow today. Napping and re-hydrating mostly.

We stayed at Harrah's and Green Valley Ranch. GVR is awesome. Harrah's is O.K. when it's free! Spent some time at Wynn. We really liked the place. Did most of our gambling at Paris' blackjack tables. Did a little low rolling downtown.

Tuesday evening went to Binion's for dinner at The Ranch Steakhouse. Great as usual. Before dinner we spent some time learning how to play Craps at Golden Gate. HurricaneMikey was the stickman. Really nice to meet him. He is as great a guy in person as he is in his posts and reports.

Went to a meet of folks from the LVT board Orleans on Wednesday. Was cool to meet some of the folks who post there. Nice bunch of people. So glad we made time to attend the meet. Thanks to LVNorm for attending and for the photos.

Like Mikey has already reported - the LVT folks were nice but they wasn't no party goin' on.

As the meet wound down HurricaineMikey, peanutmnm and myself ventured over to a craps table. peanutmnm and I were learning how to play from the zen master. We both came away pretty much even (actually I did make about $54). Mikey left with a tidy profit! Later, that evening before he went to pull a shift at Sunset Station, he wacked 'em for an even larger payoff.

On Mikey's recommendation we purchased half price tickets to see the Tribute to the Rat Pack at Greek Isles. The hotel is a dump. I don't mean dumps like some idiots call Imperial Palace or Stratosphere 'dumps'. I'm talking just a notch above the Western here. But, if you can get past that, The Tribute to the Rat Pack is a very good show. Tickets are easy to get from the ticket place in front of the Peppermill. It is a show that we'd see again.

Four nights in Las Vegas and I didn't pay for a room and only about half our meals. If I didn't gamble these trips wouldn't cost me anything. But, if I didn't gamble I wouldn't recieve these great offers and I sure wouldn't anticipate going so much!

I need to rest now. We are on vacation for another ten days or so; therefore, my full TR will not get posted until we arrive back home 'round June 15.

Unfortunately I have missed the window of opportunity for the "gate" and it's most famous patron'. However, I still hope to venture to the "station" for a viewing and hopefully a profit with the 'Cane. I also hesitate as it seems he cleans the environment from both sides of the table and would prefer a social setting rather than a competitive one. Glad to hear others also travel and return at the late hour to SA. What a great airport though...hassle free and close to the highway out of town. Good report and hope to hear more in the coming days.....

It was great to meet you at the meet. Sorry there was no 'party' going on.. but you have to give those things time ;-) i had spent all day at the pool, and was in need of a few drinks to liven myself up!! I meant to get back over to you and chat some more, but you left. It is so difficult to talk to everyone at a meet!

Tess - was very nice to meet you. Yeah, we were all a bit subdued. A few of us headed to a craps table. Myself, peanutmnm and HurricaneMikey rolled the dice for a bit. When we came back to the Mardi Gras Bar the meet had moved on. Mikey and I had a couple of drinks, smoked some stogies until my wife came back from playing VP. Sorry we didin't get to visit more. It was good to meet so many of the folks who post on these boards. For me, it always comforting to meet others who share my addiction.

I may be too shy for MM3

Coaster - I have this Fantasy of being out there for a March Madness weekend. But, I don't know if I'm tough enough for trash can diving on Fremont and I like my toenails!

Anyone with a sense of adventure can fit in at MM GVJ... not all of us (read: only *one* of us) went the trash can route! And as far as I know, all MM2 attendees returned home with all their toenails. Maybe not all of their undergarments (hi Angy!) but... :D
