    Trips to Las Vegas:

    My Trip Report

Many years ago I played at the Horseshoe every trip (back when the PA would say "Phone call for Mr. Binion, Mr. Jack Binion please") for the relaxation of the dealers and the great wait staff (?). Although those times are gone, there was a dealer (older guy) named Al who after the second year I just asked straight up (after observing him on breaks in the sportsbook looking at the ball games) if he preferred a tip or betting his tip. He grinned as he shuffled (ahhh single deck)and said "whatever you like sonny; it's still your money". Al busted a bunch and I liked him. He would just shrug and say "That's gambling" Next break that day I asked him who would win today's games and he told me 3 or 4 teams he liked. NEXT break I handed him a 10 $ parlay which later hit for 39 $ 's (handed off in the bathroom by the way---no cameras but some funny looks) + the original 10. He seemed to like that and we saw each other once a year, always summer until the joint was turned over to the little sister and hubby. and the rest is history.
MY QUESTION is what is legit and what is preferred? bet up front?...bet on my chips in addition to my original bet (make me look like a REAL high-low roler)and a split after the hand? or just straight cash?
look forward to visiting with you when the lucky casino hires you and all the "family" frequents the place......("our 1/4ly profits have jumped exponentially Quido") psttt-- keep the goatee....coast will come around or not~

    Trips to Las Vegas:
I guess it depends on the game...if I'm stuck dealing some carnival shiat due to making fun of the pit boss or something, well then, just donate the cash while visiting me on the Big Six wheel. But if I'm at the BJ table, go ahead and make a bet or two for me...

At the dice table, there are lots of ways to show your appreciation for the boys.

Make a pass line bet for the dealers (Don't forget the odds!)

Make a place bet for the dealers

Add extra odds for the dealers, just by offsetting the chips a bit and telling the dealer "the top ones are for you!"--Most people don't take full odds, especially on the 4 or 10. Usually, I'll take double odds if 4 or 10 is the point, then I'll put two white chips on top of my odds, offset a bit, for the dealers.

    Make your hard-way bets two-way.

Last night at the Plaza, a guy walked away from the table and tossed a red chip at the stickman, saying "You pick the bet, it's for the boys", so the stickman said "Dealers got a $5 yo!" Wouldn't you know, next roll of the dice--YO ELEVEN!!! Talk about a happy crew. [IMG]

And then at the end of your roll when you color up, just take a few odd chips off the top and give them to the dealers, no bet involved. That's what I do.

That should be a good start on ways to show appreciating for a hard-working dice crew!
