I'm headed to Tunica in two weeks for the first time courtesy of MGM's free hotel/airfare promo. I've done the Biloxi promo a few times so I know what to expect. But my biggest concern is transportation to other casinos and possibly Memphis. Looking at other forums, it doesn't look like there are many options, if any. And since we use their shuttle from the airport to the hotel, renting a car when we get to the airport isnt an option.

Just curious what anyone else has done who has booked this offer before. Certainly you don't just gamble the entire time you are there :)

I was just there last week. It is in a remote location although it is right next door to a Horseshoe Casino and Tunica Roadhouse (both CET). Other casinos are probably about 7 miles away. It is about 40 miles south of Memphis. I don't recall seeing any taxi cabs. You could probably find an Enterprise Car Rental facility in Tunica or Southaven (each 10 - 15 miles away). There are some Mississippi River attractions including river boat tours. You might be wise to forego the MGM limo and rent a car in Memphis. The Gold Strike is a very nice, busy facillity.

Yeah l would think if you want to explore anything outside of the three casinos previously mentioned and anywhere outside of tunica as well, you would need to rent a car.

There really isn't a lot other than gambling there.

If they are flying into the Tunica airport, it used to have a car rental place onsite. Harrahs used to fly into both.

I agree that Biloxi is better than Tunica. But as far as a pure gambling location Tunica is pretty nice. And I believe that the OP is on a free promo. I kinda like gambling in the cotton fields.
I believe that you could just rent a car at the airport and not have to worry about the shuttle they would still get your luggage to the room just call and ask the GS customer service.

They have a lot of 9/6 JOB in .25, .50, and $1 at Sam's Town in Tunica. That game is becoming increasingly rare in MS. I don't recall seeing it (or anything better) in Biloxi.
