Sunday the 13th we will get together for a meet-n-greet, drinks and gambling in the Downtown area. Details still tbd, but we will most likely kick off around 4pm at Boar's Head Bar at MSS. Anyone like to join, you are very welcome. The more the merrier!

We'll be in Vegas but I think we're doing Penn & Teller that night for our Son's birthday. Don't forget the Marathon is that day and they'll have the strip closed off. Not sure what they do with the bus routes if anyone is planning on attending from the strip.

I will check it out. On the board I read that the marathon will be in the afternoon and evening, but I will try to find out times etc.
 
how do I get downtown from the strip? Can we ride together Lady Fortuna? Assuming you're not hungover from the night before ;)
 
It's gonna be my first time in LV. I'll be travelling from Turkey and would enjoy you people's company.

You can take Uber/ Lyft, ride the double decker bus down from the strip, take a free shuttle from Harrahs to Sam's Town play there then take another free shuttle to the Cal.

Not at all a bad idea! What do you think, spdandpwr, shall we be adventurous and do a detour? I've never been to Sam's Town before. And then we share a taxi/uber/lyft back to the Strip afterwards (if we can still stand each other by then :p).
 
Hope everyone has fun. We fly in that day around 2pm but with all the road closures we'll stay put at Gold Coast. :beer:

So the marathon starts at 4pm and the Strip will be closed off for it. So we better make sure we are gone way ahead of time, spdandpwr! Bus adventure?!

No problem LF!

The finish line is on the Mirage side and the runner holding area (medals, drinks food etc) lasts until the end of Harrah's/Caesars. Family and friends can wait for you in the street where Seredipity is at Caesars and then there is some other tents up and bag pick up for runners. This means that the Bally's/Harrah's side will be traffic free for a while, so if you are interested in taking a photo in the middle of the street sans vehicular traffic, you can do so.

Here is when I ran it in 2012. So if you are definitely interested in standing in the street...
