Let us know what you decide. I can't imagine a doctor telling you it is okay to travel. I've been a nurse for 27 years -- longer than I want to admit. I worked for 3 years in a cardiac cath lab years ago - we also assisted with the stress tests - treadmill and chemical. Your positive stress tests means that when your heart is an an exercise mode -at least one of your coronary arteries that surround your heart is possibly not supplying enough blood to your heart. If you have a blockage and your heart rate and blood pressure rises those arteries constrict even more -- too much constriction or blockage and then you have infarcted or dead muscle (your heart) - the myocardial infarct better know as a heart attack. People survive heart attacks all the time -- but the part of the heart muscle that gets damaged does not recover --ever. If you go to Vegas in the heat and walking or just winning that big hand pay at the slots and get excited you will be exercising your heart.

That being said some people who have positive stress tests for possible coronary artery disease and have further testing -- a cardiac catheterization -will sometimes be normal and have no blockage. -- I would consider that a big win.

Best wishes and again let us know of both outcomes - the trip going or postponing and your heart.

That was a great reply and description vwhiten.

Tammy, I'm from Canada so have no idea how your health care works. But if I went to my GP (General Practitioner) and he felt strongly enough to refer me to a Specialist, I would heed his advise and stay home.

You pay health care premiums so that you can get an opinion from a professional. Listen to their advice.

I like to gamble, but not with my life. If you need to see a specialist, then I would wait to see one before I went to Vegas.

If my general practitioner recommends me to a specialist I will heed his advice. Vegas will always be there.

But if the specialist finds something terminal, well, Vegas will always be there but I won't. So I'm going till I drop dead.

Consider your traveling companion too. God forbid you get sick ,then they're stuck basically looking after you in a strange place.

I haven't read all the in-between posts, so maybe this has been asked and answered.

    Two questions to ask yourself:

Do you have more than one of the body part in question?

Can you get by on the remaining one in a satisfactory manner?

Those would kind of cover it for me.

I saw on another thread where Tammy was giving away her Jersey Boy tickets and postponed the trip -- Hopefully she won't have to postpone it for too long.

Certainly not trying to be judgmental, but this reminds me of a friend I went on a day trip with, who has issues due to her weight. By the end of the day she couldn't hardly walk, was sweating bad and I had to go get her car and drive us back home in her car. And of course the heat contributed as well. Not a good feeling.

I would also listen to the doctor.
