Looks like the whiskey tasting is temporarily moved to Ignite, I assume the high limit lounge is closed currently? Anyone been there with this change? Any difference in menu/options? I head out tomorrow but am only in town for two nights and staying downtown so I’m not sure if I’ll get to try this out or not.

Well to follow-up, I went on Monday - they limited me to 3 selections instead of the usual 4 - they were using the same/similar menu or when it was in the high limit lounge but they were out of multiple things I asked for, so had to substitute other things. It’s right at the front of the casino from when you enter off the strip so it’s not as nice as the high limit lounge but this is a short term option. Either way, was nice for me because it counted as a new batch so I could repurchase.

Thanks for the update, we're thinking about doing this on the next trip. How was the experience? That bar seems fairly busy everytime we go to the MC, did they spend a little time talking about the different Whiskey?

I took the whiskey over to the couches, I had my parents in town and split it with them, but I would say the bartenders working at 3pm on a Monday did not seem incredibly knowledgeable- the bar area on the other hand was pretty quiet.

We did this on Saturday 21st Oct. It was severely lacking from the experience we had in May. In May we only got 3 pours too, but the bartender was very attentive and suggested different things for each of us (me, my dad and the oh) after asking a few questions.

Saturday; we were shown a card with several groups of whisky, maybe three of each type. The bartender didn't really help us, but we sort of knew what we wanted anyway. We chose our drinks, they were delivered in rocks glasses. (two of mine were dirty) Last time we had nice glasses, the curved ones. I tried to get his attention a few times after we got our choices, but I'd already tipped him and I felt that he thought the transaction was done. I was ignored. Maybe he thought a $10 tip wasn't enough. after my dirty glasses and being snubbed, i felt like it was too much.

I'm sorry to read this. I've had the whiskey tasting at HIT twice and really enjoyed it. Both times I had 4 shots, and the bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. The 2nd time especially so.

Our experience at HIT wa great. Last week was entirely different. We got our drinks, but everything else was severely lacking.

Did they by chance still have the Russel's Reserve Monte Carlo barrel selection as an option? In June I got four pours of just that and I am now hooked. Best RR pick I have ever tasted.

No, that wasn’t on the list we had to choose from.

Thanks. Doesn't matter anyway since Ignite is closing in a couple days. Guess there is another reward we can't use in December!

Yeah, I was sad to see that - I'm gonna be back in Vegas in a couple weeks and was looking for something to use points on that's still worth it. I enjoyed the whiskey tasting last time (more than a year ago), and it looked like I could redeem it again, except not, since apparently both the original and replacement venues for it are going to be closed for renovation by then. :(

I was hoping a new location would pop up after Ignite closes, have my fingers crossed it’s there for my December trip
