We went to Vegas last Tuesday to meet up with some friends of ours that flew in from New York courtesy of the Mirage. When we got there they were at the pool and in a cabana with full food and beverages. It was amazing to me because we ordered from the full menu and everything was comped. He asked them to bring us four Coronas and they brought a case instead, all iced down. They had a great suite and all the restaurants at the Mirage and Treasure Island were included in the comps. BTW, they play $25 slots. We stayed at the Plaza with no luck on this trip. A couple of notes: The Gold Spike has removed their table games. It is now a Video Poker and slot joint. Binions had a $3 crap game going on Wednesday. Not sure if the price goes up on weekends but this was a good sign. Sams Town has $5 single deck but it is of the 6/5 variety. When we got home we found an invite to the Slot Tournament at the Plaza for May 14th, so it looks like we will be going back then.
So how's big John Daly doing these days? Too bad about the Spike's tables, but I can't say I'm surprised. Every so often my buddy and I have the conversation about "whaddaya think a place like that would sell for?" If (when) I hit the lottery...
The Golden Gate has a $3 craps table all the time during the week (at least they did when I was there in April). Not sure what happens on weekends though. Also saw several single deck $5 BJ tables downtown, and all that I paid attention to were 3:2.
Don baby! I'll be there at LVC on that tourney offer! We need to have drinks and you can meet the hubby!
