I can’t find any solid info... have they closed the margaritaville casino yet? If so, is it “closed,” or did they just take out all the themed stuff? I love playing in that area so close to the center of the strip, and right off the main walkway, and I’m hoping they at least keep the same relative layout even if it’s de-themed.

Are you talking about the Flamingo? I don't think they ever really had a separate casino - just a themed area near the restaurant. Where did you see it was gone?

I thought it was just the Margaritaville Restaurant that was closing.

Still open last week. They took down a couple of neon signs above a bank of slots closest to the main Flamingo casino, but otherwise it was Margaritaville as usual. There was a sign on the street outside the restaurant that said "Pardon our Sand" and that they were undergoing renovations to enhance the experience, blah blah, with a link to the margaritaville website, so who knows?

I hope they don't close the casino because my wife's lucky slot is there as well as my favorite cocktail waitress. We spend time there every day on every trip.

The writing was on the wall when they moved the craps table to make way for beer pong! Stay Classy Margaritaville!

I saw a picture yesterday where the signage for the 5 O'Clock Somewhere bar has been removed.

This was posted in another forum this morning from someone I know that is in Vegas right now:

"Margaritaville is rebranding and not closing. I love this place. Just spent every morning for the last 8 days here. The CWs are awesome. Apparently, Buffet gets a cut for signage every year, so they are cutting ties with him because of the cost. I watched them remove most of the signage this week. It was sad because we have been going there for 7 years. The CW said it will not close and it will stay some sort of tropical theme, but that is to be seen."

do they have a separate cashier and separate chips or is it all the same with the rest of the flamingo? ive walked through the area a couple times when walking around the strip but never really checked it out.

No cashier in there. I believe some of the chips are branded, but they're good anywhere in Flamingo. It really is just kind of a party pit area at the edge of the Flamingo casino... I just like it because it's close to the street, it's open-air and breezy on warm days, the drink service is faster (not to mention the nickel-beer happy hour), and the overall vibe tends to be a lot more fun and less smoky than the rest of the Dirty Bird.

I read somewhere that Penn Gaming I think it was bought a margaritaville casino somewhere. I'm wondering if they are in real trouble?
