Potentially booking a trip to MB next month.

    How’s the vibe?
    Does the casino have energy?
    Are the restaurants open?
Is Moorea beach club open and back to normal?
Are masks required at tables and slots?

Concerned I may book a trip and sit in a dead casino with no Vegas excitement.

Not been, but the trip reports section has plenty of reports from the last few weeks, and even some live reports going on.

I wouldn't be going with the impression 2019 is coming back for a long time, though.

Hope you have a great trip if you make it out there :)

Masks required at every casino. Go to the Mandalay Bay website, it shows everything that is currently open and their hours. Pool is open but will close at capacity and others will not be let in until someone leaves. Masks are required there as well unless in the water. Search on YouTube, there are a few videos of MB since opening. Depending on the time of day, don't expect crowds. That's the reason I decided on that hotel, farther way and seems less crowded.

    Have fun!

I was in Vegas 3 weeks ago, I can not comment specifically on Mandalay Bay, but Vegas is far from “back to normal”. It’s a different vibe, restaurants that are open are at a capacity limit, and most people are adhering to the mask mandate.

I’m at Mandalay now. The casino is busy but not overly crowded. Lots of families and others coming and going from the pool area.

Most people are mask compliant but correct masks wearing is not actively enforced here. I’ve seen employees and guests freely walking around with masks below their noses. I did see some employees doing general cleaning in the casino but they don’t seem to be able to keep up. I sat at several dirty slot machines and either cleaned them myself or moved on. There were lots of empty drinks and overflowing ashtrays on the slot floor. Slot chairs are scattered all over the place. I hate to be negative because I’m a big MB fan but they are not doing a good job in the casino with cleanliness.

Drink service was non existent until I flagged down a CW and overtipped. It was lightning fast after that.

Enough restaurants are open. No complaints there.

My room was spotless. Housekeeping appears to be doing an excellent job.

If you don't mind....what time of day do you find is the most crowded/dirty? I'm hoping to be gambling between 5AM and noon to avoid as many people as possible, pick up lunch then work from my room the rest of the day.

I’m at the Luxor right now. If your gambling between 5AM and noon you will be completely fine. I got here yesterday at around 7AM. Gambled while waiting for my room. At the tables everyone was masked dealers were making everyone hand sanitize. It’s honestly way better then this board makes it out to be. I will say the amount of inexperienced gamblers here can be seen at the tables. I haven’t seen large groups of people on scooters or enough to bother me anyways.

I played from 7 am until about noon today. The casino is MUCH cleaner this morning. You should be fine with morning gambling. Unfortunately they are still allowing people to walk around/play with masks below the nose. I stayed at Cosmo for a few days before coming here and they were diligent about masks and wearing them correctly. I guess I’m just surprised that MB is so lax.
