We live right outside Sedona ,Az so it is just a 4 hr 18min drive for us. We try to go at least twice a year to have a little fun. This was our first stay at MB. because of a nice room rate offered 109.per night. We pulled into the parking at about 11:45 and searched for the check in ,finding it somewhat crowded. Asked the front desk nicely for a strip view and got it. So far so good. Had a package waiting for us which seemed to cause a little confusion but finally got it. After checking out the room which we thought was very nice including amneties in bath(nice bathroom)We were off and hungry found the Border grill and had some very good food.We then checked out the place to get the lay of the land with some gambling in for good measure. Dinner at the Burger Bar which was very good also. Next morning finds us at the HOB for breakfast had the eggs benedict pretty good, then on to the lazy river at 9:30 no lines at all. Had a few pina coladas and chilled. Then a quick clean up and cruised to the Luxor to play around.Dinner at the Buffet. Was not to impressed, crab hard to peel and watery, maybe it was just me.Took a little nap and back to the casino at 11pm. Checked out some music and did some more gambling.Free Drinks seem to come at a pretty good pace as we played the games, Off to Raffles cafe for a 5:30am dinner and back to bed. Next day back to the pool,we had bought our own tubes because they want $20 to rent one. Another clean up and on the move.Stopped and had some more mexican food at the BG for lunch.More gambling and cruising.Had dinner at Caffe Giorgio Wifes said hers was very good, mine was so so. Went to the player desk and got some coupons for the next day(more gambling and cruising)Off to bed. 7/28 tried HOB again since we had a coupon,Not as good as the first time(eggs overcooked) Then off to the Shark Reef with a 2 for 1 coupon. We enjoyed the exhibit quite a bit. We tried to find the monorail at MGM without much luck, might not have tried to hard having to beat all the time share people off. They really blow the fun of cruising the strip. Burger Bar for dinner and a somewhat early night as we like to hit the road early before the traffic and heat. All in All We really enjoyed the MB and are already looking to return in Nov. They have some $99 per day rates. Get to the pools early if you want to find a chair. Just some insight We have stayed at TI,Rio,Bellagio,Sands,Dunes,Flamingo and some I might not remember to well(to much to drink maybe nahhh)I was very pleased with MB overall. Glad I came across this board. Mike [ August 06, 2004, 07:26 AM: Message edited by: mesa ]
Exactly what I was hoping for! A great report Mike. My wife and I are heading to MB next week and it will be our first visit/stay there. One question, did they say anything about bringing your own tubes? Someone told me you can't but I don't think they tried. Also, any luck playing in the casino? I'm mostly a bj and video poker player.. Thanks again for the report. Ez
Nope ,they did not say anything about tubes and there was quite a few who had there own.No luck gambling Up & down But thats always seems to work out that way for me. Dohhhh I always only gamble with what I can afford to lose I never get real crazy. Have Fun. mike
In your opinion, is the MB pool area all it's cracked up to be, especially compared to some of the other places you've stayed?
chef, I would say which pools are best is subjective to what your looking for. I thought MB pools were vere nice,we were going for the lazy river mostly, but the wave pool was fun but not that big of a deal to me anyways. We did not hit any others there at this time. Bellagios are very nice pools but it is a much differant setting. I will be going back though. You can bet on that
the burger bar was on our to-do-list for our last trip, but (insert long story) we couldnt do it. how was it? thanks for sharing your report!
