To be fair, though, 80% of the population is something like 5'11" or less where reclining in a regular airline seat is more of an annoyance than an inconvenience. If you're 6'3", you probably have to accept that you should pay for an exit row if you want to have any sort of comfort on a plane.

as they cram more seats in, they pretty much have to cut down the recline.

The economy plus/mabin cabin extra/comfort plus seats are nice enough for pretty much any domestic flight. The poor man's first class.

Yeah, I'm pretty surprised at the number of people who have expressed their willingness to go to jail over essentially nothing. In the real world it doesn't seem to work out that way!

I finally saw the video, it's pretty bad, the guy is a definite jerk. i dont like it when the person in front reclines but I dont say anything, and truthfully it's not the end of the world. if i was her i might have turned around and said something along the lines of " Wow, you're in the last row of the plane, right near the shitter, and the person in front of you reclines their seat, it must suck to be you", then I'd leave the seat down.

Seriously though, it is sad the way people are, I fly southwest quite a bit and I see seat savers trying to save a whole row, etc, it's just classless.

Agreed with others that laugh at the "beat the guy up" track. That'll come with hardcore consequences. I'd give the guy a good yelling, but I'm not risking an accidental manslaughter or even assault charge that could ruin my job/life. Your defense will be "he was bonking my headrest!?"

I recall my friend in my mid 20s in LA who interceded between a homeless guy in Venice who was verbally harassing a woman and very close to grabbing her. My friend ended up scuffling with the guy and punched him. Friend had 150 hours of community service sweeping the beach, big fine, probation, for the assault. Ended up being a real pain in the ass.
