I feel like I would really dig this place. It’s one of the few casinos I’ve never been to. Can I get a comparison to Jerry’s Nugget in terms of:

Table games, Clientele, Bartop VP/drinks/bartenders, Bingo, floor size, food

Pretty sure I’m gonna go next trip, but just for giggles and shits…make me HAVE to go, y’all.

    Love,
    Earl

It's the North Las Vegas casino where I feel least like I might get shanked or raped. If you're curious, Lucky Club is tops on that list.

We went on our last trip. The big selling point is all paper bingo. Thurs-Sun. No computers. slot selection varies. depending on what you are looking . Lots of higher volatile machines that are popular. The low volatile games are mostly at $1 think they have a bank of 4 that are $5. We didnt eat. . Clean property. Will very much consider staying there a couple days next trip since the girls like the bingo.

I've never been to Jerry's Nugget, so I can't compare. But if you go, I probably would suggest going at a busier time than we did. We went on a Tuesday night about 10pm and it was pretty dead. Tables looked pretty depressing particularly.

A lot of old IGT slots. I didn't even check the bars because we weren't planning to stay too long. Yes, I suck.

If we'd go back, it definitely would be for paper-only bingo.

We have always enjoyed it last trip in May the bingo was closed but they still had the $5.00 craps and Pia Gow which is the biggest reason to go it is now a Boyd property and like every thing else they touch they have made the Cannery worse than when they were an independent as the comps used to be very good there also every time I play craps there the table has a good vibe and good dealers mostly locals playing but overall a very nice casino the chances of a shanking are low for better shanking odds head over to the Bighorn or the Lucky Club, Silver Nugget or Poker Palace.

My brother and I stayed there for a couple of nights earlier this week. The room was clean and well appointed. I would like to have had a safe in the room, but other than that, no complaints. The casino was a little smokey, but not terrible. There is a bank of full pay VP and some one off full pay with progressive RF for dollars. The table games were pretty full during the weekend. Victory Cafe is open 24/7 and is decent. They have a couple other food outlets and we enjoyed a movie at the theater, also. I would stay there again.

We liked it. It was nice when we went. It’s been a while though, because we don’t often get a rental these days. You can do the bus(we have/ once) but it takes forever.

Google map shows 20th minutes from downtown on bus that takes the interstate. Unfortunately there’s no good bus route for Jerry’s Nugget to Cannery. Would love to hit both from downtown at once.

I’m sure you could find a route that worked. Late here, I’ll check it out tomorrow.

The Carve steakhouse/prime rib used to be good, but for us that was five years ago. I think now the price of prime rib is the mid 30’s and upper 30’s, with mashed potatoes and veggies. I believe it was in the 20’s back then with a baked potato.

Stopped there Thursday night. It was very clean. To some what smokey. Better available BJ games than most places lately. $10 min. Craps was $10 that night but have seen it $5 other times. The dealers are the nicest you will find and you will have a good time. Think it is a break in lace for dealers so they still enjoy their job. Cocktail service is the best you will find. It is kindof old Vegas feel about it. Not the nicest neighborhood but safe in casino. Rooms are super 8 feel. Doesn't have Jerry's coffee shop which IMHO is best in Vegas for value. Biggest thing that kept noticing is how clean it was. Big plus in my book

We are booked there for part of our June trip. One in our group likes bingo and I only play paper so that's a plus. Rooms look decent enough in photos. Interested in trying out their steakhouse. Looks to be your typical Vegas steakhouse offerings at 1/3rd the price. According to my win/loss report I turned a profit there last year so another plus.

Too bad that Boyd isn't opening up the Eastside Cannery...I prefer it over Sam's Town...and over the Cannery...it was a nice place with Strip quality rooms...and a nice bright gaming floor.
