It is the next morning that you know the difference.....
Current state of Diamond Plus:
No free shows.
No Laurel Lounge access.
No food vouchers.
Intermittent bell service.
Intermittent valet parking.
No priority seating at restaurants.
No Super Bowl party.
No premium drinks.
No one knew COVID was coming but earning Diamond Plus definitely wasn’t worth it for the past year and things don’t look good for next year too. CET should be doing something besides extending tier levels. The benefits are still diminished and these new drink policies show that they really don’t care or are not thinking about their loyal customers.
What do you get?
Free parking....something that was free 5 years ago.
No resort fees....something not charged 8 years ago.
Diminishing returns from CETDORADO.
Free local calls
Fax service for up to 5 pages, local faxes only
Free air that is exchanged at least once a day through fiberglass air filters that are checked regularly
Free conversations with the on-duty host
Up to 5 copies of your diamond card in case yours is lost
They need to extend the tier level another six months minimum or start the clock when the better portion of tier benefits have returned. I think it's a joke and since El Dorado took over, albeit during Covid, I can already see the difference at my home casino resulting in it being a few days from February and I don't have a single point. You couldn't have said it any better. Not that I was going to go I kept waiting for some type of Superbowl invite and I check my account to see they're offering me the days for free as if I couldn't have just rung them up on my own. They need to extend the tier level for certain.
I've hesitated to comment since I don't care about what type of bottled water I get (this is meant tongue in cheek), but all of this should serve as proof of what you should already know: Tier doesn't really mean much. Don't play for tier. Don't expect a bunch of perks or treatment tied specifically to your tier. Stay/play where you get the best total offer and evaluate before/after each trip. All of the perks mentioned in this thread are available to anyone (as a backend comp or otherwise) who actually plays at the right/required level (not simply based on the tier you achieved, which may have been from a match, overall spend, or gaming the system).
It's not black and white. It is easy to say don't expect something related to tier but it is like saying someone gave you their word they give you free candy but then take it away. Just because you shouldn't have expected it doesn't make it right for them to dangle a carrot in front of you then retract. So we understand this point of view but life isn't black and white always. It is our right to play where we want if not happy and it is our right to complain and see if they can make a situation right for them to correct the situation or compromise.
I totally agree. Make your feelings known and if they don't respond the way you want then take your play elsewhere if you can do better. Their response is a direct reflection of how they value you as a customer (rightly or wrongly).
I understand your point but remember CET instituted the tiers and the benefits associated with each level. If they want to change the benefits that’s their option. I just don’t think it is good customer service to devalue the benefits after they are earned. You wrote about evaluating your offer after a trip, part of the evaluation process is determining the benefits of being loyal to an organization and you can’t make a good decision if you can’t trust the organization to honor the benefits earned.
Cromwell has been great about this for years, as well as PH. I’ve never had a problem with getting a Fiji at either property on the floor playing green chip BJ, but the rest? Save for caesars a few times they’re all cheap about it.
Here I am ordering my cheap Budweiser or Corona when you guys are getting fancy water! I'm one of those "Not playing if I'm not getting drinks" kind of people. Last trip at Mandalay Bay (not CET I know) cocktail service was seriously lacking. On a therapist's couch it sounds like a problem but I really don't enjoy the whole gambling experience without my beer in hand.
Before the merger, I would sit at a BJ table at flamingo and the same waitress would come up every trip and say here is your usual, Fiji water and Miller lite. It may seem like I have been there a few too many times
Reading through the thread it seems the obvious answer is to just boycott Paris and Ballys. They are the two properties where the cutbacks are happening. If I am gambling at CET, I will just do it at Caesars and Cromwell in future.
Has anyone been to Planet Hollywood? Just wondering if they are following the same Bally's /Paris rules.
Was at Pho on Wednesday morning. No problem with a comped vodka red Bull at the bartops.
I was at Harrahs las vegas this past weekend. First half of my stay I was getting Fiji without issue. Halfway through my trip at shift change it wasn’t available. I spoke to the casino general manager and he told me they got rid of Fiji several months ago. He didn’t understand how I was getting it the night before but had someone go get me some. I had dinner with my host later that day and he told me he had requested Fiji be available but after the shift change the new servers must have not gotten the message.
who says the suits don’ t read VMB?
When speaking to the GM I specifically told him there is a 10 plus page thread on this site and gave him the site to check it out. I told him the drink changes are really affecting a lot of players.
Cant wait to see when things get back to "normal" and the casinos decide to just keep things the way they are now... Vegas nickel and dimeing its self to its own death.
Speaking with staff at Paris and Bally's they encouraged us to complain about the new Beverage Mgr. Please do so. And more importantly, start gambling at other CET props.
