Can we just get this to happen so I can apply for the head brewer gig at Triple 7s?

July 1. To give time for preparation of Hawaii’s resurgence. If not then I’d don’t know

Is July 1 confirmed or just an opinion? I am hoping that they at least reopen the casino. Doubtful they can reopen the hotel since they can't even fill out the rooms at the Cal but anything is possible.

No word so guess Sept 1 is the start date for charters from Hawaii.

Is Main St. still planning on converting the iconic, beautiful, memorable, one of a kind Garden Buffet into a stupid, boring, unhealthy, run of the mill uninspiring and stupid (oh I said that) Food Court?:stir:

My sister came back last week Monday (May 10). She said that some workers said that 7/1 was the projected reopening date for MSS but again this is unconfirmed. Nothing on the Boyd web site or press releases so guess we will see when they are close to reopening. No sense speculating until we get word from Boyd gaming.

One thing though, I tried to book a room at MSS for July through Sept and was able to get rates. I thought it was great, I gave the mon - fri dates - 4 week nights in mid July. $200. Unfortunately I followed through with the booking, the $200 was the cost PER NIGHT!!!! So a 4 night stay would cost $800, not including taxes and resort fees! I checked the Cal and the same 4 nights cost $180 for the WHOLE STAY! Yeah, not including taxes and resort fees but so strange that one night at MSS would be the higher than the cost of a 4 night stay at the Cal.

I think we will have to wait until we get official word on MSS. Let's hope that their room rates will be more in line with the Cal. Not much of a problem for me, I rather stay at the Cal west tower, esp if they give me 4 comped nights. No comps for MSS too so best to just wait until they come up with the official announcement.

And no word on the MSS buffet. But if they are waiting for September Hawaii charters then maybe they can reopen the buffet with some no handling rules.

What's the current occupancy for the Cal?
How many locals visit MSS and don't get a hotel?

Regarding the Cal...I don't know capacity, but my host told me they are sold out this Fri & Sat. AFAIK, the east tower is still closed, so sold out means 50% of the entire hotel is occupied.
@Ty living there and this just being an observation, it was our experience that on any given day we decided to gamble at BHB, there were always locals there. Maybe 25% of customers???

Not only at 50%, but that's 50% on the weekend. I would think they would want that number during the week to warrant opening MSS.

In the early mornings locals would regularly drop by the craps tables before heading out to work.

Just FYI, I think someone posted that the east tower is now open so guess they can now go at 100% occupancy.

As for MSS, don't think it ever happened, casino open but not hotel so this is something new. But as I mentioned, looks like can book MSS rooms but they are expensive (starting at $200 a night and up). OMG, just looked at MSS for September. 9/12 - 9/16 was going for almost $400 A NIGHT!

I checked in on April 22nd and was assigned a room in the east tower. I am going to guess it wasn't open very long at that point because I had a cold shower on the first morning.

This is why I don't like posting "rumors". I appreciate people are anxious for information, but it just results in confusion for people trying to find legitimate information.

There has not been an announced opening date for Main Street Station. When there is one, I will be sure to post a new thread with the confirmation and date.

OK, I posted this in my TR.....

I was drinking my am coffee in my room, Mon am, and I am hearing this leaf blower noise. WTH?

I look out the window, across the street at the closed MSS valet, and ONE dude, is there, blowing dirt etc... away from the parking spots.
Talk about a lonely, and long job!

Anyhoo, wondered if THAT was a sign? LOL

Makikiboy, you check their site so often, they're getting an inflated sense of room demand.
