I seldom play video poker at MSS, but I have hit 4 of a kinds there and both times forgot to ask for a scratch ticket . . .

When you hit 4 of a kind, or a straight flush, or a royal, push the service button.

The computer system will pick it up, and an employ will give you a scratch ticket. You are requested to scratch it off in their presence.

Suggestion if you are playing for comps, get a second Boyd card. When they bring the scratch off ticket, they ask you to pull your player's card out of the machine to write your name and card number on the back. However, due to the new "method" of tier credits by B-Con, the longer you play on the machine is a factor and you lose out by pulling your active card in and out.

Give the attendant your second card to allow the original to remain in the machine to allow a greater accumulation of tier credits.

Do you have to wait for the attendant to come give you the scratch off before you keep playing, or does hitting the service button record it so they know you got the 4OAK and you can continue to play while waiting?

You have to wait. But nothing prevents you from playing the machine next to you while you wait for the attendant.

Ha ha ha. I guess I should have clarified that nothing prevents you from playing on the unoccupied machine next to you while you wait. LoL

Like Viva Las Vegas said, I leave one player’s card in the machine.

Then I hand my spare card to the slot attendant.

This is good advice. And for those who don't have a second BConnected card, you can show the attendant a previously obtained scratch card instead of pulling your player's card out of the machine. Obviously it doesn't help you on the first 4OAK you get on the day, but for all the others it will.

Any VP machine in MSS playing nickel denomination or higher with your player's card inserted and max coins bet.

is there a link to this anywhere or a posting in the casino that explains it?
What is the minimum a scratcher awards and what is the maximum?
I might have to play a bit at MSS on my next trip

    Joe says the $5 and $5000 or $4000 (can't remember exist). I've had numerous 4OAKs and only $2. I think it's a unicorn but until I see at least a $5 I don't care if you post pics. I don't believe lol.

I’ll have to look if I have a picture of the $5. Both my wife and I have gotten one or two over the years. I’ve seen pictures of several happy Hawaiians holding their $5,000 card.

If playing Video Poker below the $0.25 level you get an orange scratch-off for 4OAKS, SF, or RF. Almost always a $1 scratch-off. If you play $0.25 level or above you get a green scratch-off which is usually $2, rarely a $3, very rarely a $5, and I believe they only award a few $5000. per year, so like hitting the lottery. They also will give you a scratch-off on very high slot wins. I don't remember the criteria but it is stated on the back of the scratch-off card.

Just another comment on the MSS scratch-off program. We have played a lot of Video Poker at Main Street over the years and accordingly received a lot of scratch-offs. No big deal from a monetary perspective but we have gotten to know almost all the slot attendants on a first name basis, some have become very good friends and some relationships have evolved to where we discuss families and many other life experiences. Kind of nice when you arrive the 1st day or leave the last and sincere hugs or handshakes are exchanged.
