I second the Mac King recommendation. I think he's the best pure magician in Las Vegas but his show is more low key and small tricks. As Spanky said, there really aren't any epic magic shows in Vegas right now. I'd argue there really hasn't been any since Siegfried and Roy retired. Lance Burton was decent but he's gone now too. Penn & Teller are fun but lack the wow factor.

    The link had the instructions:

"Get a ticket to the Mac King Comedy Magic Show and a drink for $14.98 by asking at the players club booth."

I actually had more fun at Mac King than Copperfield.

Nathan Burton has a pretty good afternoon comedy/magic show at Planet Ho

I have seen a Hans Klok show a couple of times. I think he is great! He is well known in the Netherlands and really think puts up a great show. Go see him!

Not that this really helps the OP, due to timing, but Shin Lim is pretty epic and will be at Mirage later this month. I think he may be an actual wizard.

Yeah wanted to see him but timing didn’t work out. Ended up seeing piff and really enjoyed the show. Maybe not much magic but was laughing from the start til end.

Okay, you guys have convinced me, I'm hoping Piff will be performing, when we are there in Dec. Before reading this thread, I wasn't even considering Piff, but I did like him on AGT.

    Thanks.

Check out his tour schedule on his website. He does a bit of traveling, but he is around in Vegas quite a bit since that's his home base.

He is on our "plan" for October. But, like some of these magicians, our plans often "disappear". Unless we buy tickets in advance, happy hours and lounge visits often kill any planned shows. Except for LOVE - we always fit that in.

I saw Copperfield in Vegas years ago...if it’s the same show then it’s def not epic, he did have one epic trick though. I felt he wasn’t worth the money I paid.

I’ve heard the new Criss Angel Show is decent.

Piff’s shows seem to be selling out quickly. I really enjoyed the show, as did the rest of audience based on the laughter. It’s all about his wicked sense of humour.

Afterwards you can join them outside the theatre for tickets. One of their staff takes the photo with your phone.

Another great afternoon show is Paranormal - Mind Reading. It got several thousand five star reviews so we went to see it. I was a skeptic, but caught a frisbee and went on stage. Not sure how he did what he did, but he was very impressive and blew my mind. He even greets people for pictures on the way out and guesses a number that you select from 1-100. I stood and watched for awhile and he didn't miss a single one, including ours. I'm going again this Tuesday with some new family members. Groupon had/has tickets for $34.

    SHIN LIM!!!
I would love it if he got his own theater/show.
Every time I wanted to buy his tickets he was sold out.

Copperfield - pass. Price is really high. I felt ripped off.

Penn & Teller. Good show - not "epic"
Some say he has a tendency to talk political. Which can offend.
Use % off coupons. Or buy online. Decent price.

This might upset some fans but Nathan Burton show was NOT worth the time.
If anyone does want to go...use discount code "magic" to get the discount through his website. $40-something for 2 tickets.

Mac King show is good for kids. Or if you've never seen a magic show before.
Use the BOGO coupons. Otherwise try to get the coupons from the box office.

Mike Hammer. Nicest guy. The actual show is just not good.
    Bogo tickets.

Any of the other LV magic shows.... I don't have an opinion on or I haven't seen them.

Seigfried & Roy was "epic" - 1991. tragedy.

So the only thing I'd say about Shin Lim is that he is incredible, but having spoken to people familiar with his show, it's not fully worth it. This is in no way to take away from his talent, but he really excels in close-up magic, so it's a little bit wasted by going to see him in a huge theatre where you're watching on screens just like you would on YouTube. Something like Piff, where his comedy and personality is just as much a part of the show as the actual magic, could be a better ROI in terms of Vegas shows.

But seriously, Shin Lim might be an actual wizard. He's amazing.

Totally agree @44inarow - Shin Lim is on a different plane of existence.
He scares me in the same way that David Blaine scares me.
Also...he is one sexy MF. Rawr. (Shin Lim - not David Blaine)

.....I saw he had shows at Mirage in Terry Fator's theater and was wondering how he was going to pull that off.
1,250 seats!! Even knowing that the seats might not be ideal, I STILL tried to get tickets.

I have seen most of the shows mentioned and loved them all for different reasons. I have to put a plug for Mac King not an over the top show at all. Very basic but amazing close-up magic and not that expensive. If you like the true art of magic with little props you will love him. I would say go see him and a big one. I love magic

I was supposed to see him yesterday! I got up to the theater and there was a sign saying that <insert magician name> is replacing Mac King today. Ended up skipping the show.
