Trips to Las Vegas

I took a Lyft from Aria to Mccarran. The driver was following his gps and took the freeway and basicly tunnelled me to the airport. I contacted lyft customer service to dispute the route. They credited me 1.96 from a 21.50 ride. They also tried to tell me that the direct route which is 2.6 miles instead of the 8 mile highway ride would of cost the same.

im pissed their customer service sucks

That's horrible. I took Lyft from Aria to the airport this past Friday. $11.37 before tip. My driver took Harmon.

Did you say anything to the driver when you noticed he was taking you that way, or is that against the rules for Lyft?
(Serious question...I don't know much about Lyft other than it's not a taxi...)

Thanks!

RICHARD

I thought that wit lyft, uber it didn't matter what route was taken.

I literally have no clue never used it but I thought it was just charge to the location so sorry for my ignorance.

Wow that's terrible. Every other credit story I've heard so far has been close to fair.

When I have used Lyft, I notice the driver defaults to the route suggested on the app the driver is using. Though I have told the driver I prefer to go a different way and have not had any issues.

For some more information on your trip from LAS to Aria, did you depart from terminal 1 or 3? What was the fair?

I am so sorry! They (Lyft) longhauled from cosmo on the freeway, charge was $19 vs. Estimated $11. They DID adjust it down to $11.80, so I was happy. (I'm pretty sure the driver was a moonlighting cabbie.)

BUT if I start seeing a trend in lyft backing longhauling, I'll go back to Bell Limo share. It's actually my preference at $28 a person round trip, but I'm so frugal, if I can get a ride for $12, I feel guilty about paying so much more.

If they start backing longhauling though, I'd rather pay $10 more each way in a very nice car with a flat rate. Honestly it is a major wet blanket to watch the ticker go up more than it should, even if it's not a huge amount.

I'm not impressed they didn't adjust more. Ok, if you were at TI or Mirage, MAYBE to avoid strip, but Aria? Inexcusable. I'm sorry :(

PS no problems with uber yet, but we've only used it twice...

Surge pricing was 50% but Lyft charges your for miles and wait time as a cab. 2.5 mile trip became 8 miles.

It sounds like the fare was valid then. If surge pricing was turned on for 50% more and Sdebruyne's trip was around $12 from Aria, then the trip should have been around $18-20. A $2 credit on a $21.50 ride sounds reasonable.

Actually I was wrong. My credit card was charged 21.50 but I had a 10 dollar credit that was applied to the trip so the total cost from Aria to mccarran was 31.50. Customer service got back to me and credited another 5.80 off the ride.

But damn I got tunneled going to the airport /shrug

Used taxis all my trip, only about 5 journeys, all good and pricing in line with what I'm seeing on this board for lyft/Uber.....

Used Lyft in September for the first time. Airport to Fremont Casino about 930pm. The driver was friendly, personable & provided water and cell phone chargers.

He tunneled us, took the interstate and then did not take the casino center exit but took the next exit. Total fare was $21.25, paid $6.25 due to the new user sign up credit.

So we were effectively long hauled twice on the same trip. I never gave it a second thought until this thread as it was late and we were tired after a long travel day.

I will be more vigilant on our upcoming trip.
