I thought the Chinese don't like #4, maybe the marketing department doesn't know that little fact about their target customer.

Yes, it's looking like SLS redux.

I'd sooner open a hot dog stand on the moon than build a casino on the north end of the strip.

worse than SLS because it's not on the Strip and smaller.
It's just a local joint like Longhorn casino.
For those who have never heard of it, Longhorn does have a hotel, a restaurant and table games (I am not sure the "s" is needed).
Only difference is that Longhorn is at a better location (Boulder strip).

I was just gonna post this offer.
And it also seems like they don't charge resort fees. debating if I should try this new hotel out or stick with my current nyny reservation. the same price so might be cool to check it out..

If I knew they were gonna have this offer. would have booked this for nye.

I think it's amusing that it's being compared to Longhorn Casino. The players club gives you a cookie for signing up. I have not been to the Lucky Dragon yet but I'm willing to bet it's nicer. I don't mind dive places but the Longhorn is a dump. Sorry to get off subject. I hope to see for myself next week

I got the same email. That was quick. I wonder what their occupancy rates have been?

OK, here's my take on it. They cater to Asians. Notice how many "American" restaurants they have in the place? ZERO.

The Chinese food is well below the price point of any other casino on the strip, and only slightly higher than Spring Mountain Road. The food is NOT for people who think that Panda Express or P.F. Chang's is Chinese food.

The Chinese food is VERY, VERY good. The XLB that I had that night was as good as any I'd ever had.

The casinos is small enough that they might survive on "just" Asian clientele. Whether or not they survive on gaming is "iffy". I will see what kind of "deal" I can get on my next visit, and how much play they want to see. If it is better than SLS, I can handle it for a couple of days.

I heard two reasons why they don't have Pai Gow tiles.

1)They couldn't find any dealers (heard that second hand from my buddy Jason)
2)They couldn't acquire any tiles. Apparently, there is only one guy who makes the authentic tiles that they wanted to use, and he's backlogged for a year (heard that from one of the pit bosses)

Saw a blog post with a review. I think it was on Vegas Bright. It's a mid market room with a few quirks.

Just stopped by to look around. The place looks nice. There are plenty of asian players on baccarat tables and eating at the restaurants.

    We'll see how they do.

You've piqued my interest, because I was planning on trying some of the restaurants but was turned off by how some of the food looked in pictures. Is there anything good there besides the xiao long bao?

I haven't eaten at the Pearl restaurant. The "peasant" food at Dragon alley looked and smelled very good, and I didn't hear any complaints. The "pei don sau yook jook" (Cantonese for Thousand year old egg and lean pork rice porridge) was excellent, and so were the Char Siew Bow (pork bun).

This is "real" Chinese food, not Panda Express or P.F. Chang's.

Is that a sign things are bad or is that something they should do because they are new and need to build a database. A promo like that should draw locals and they are targeting them more decisively and effectively than SLS did.
