After seeing this article in the Las Vegas Sun on Louie Anderson, I saw that this once-monthy show is playing on April 22... they day I arrive in Las Vegas, and more surprisingly, I didn't have anything planned for that evening.

I did some more looking and found this promo that offers more details. I was intrigued, so I've purchased a ticket for both me and a buddy.

Cost (including fees) is $23 in this off-strip theater for the show that begins at 10:30 PM.

I saw Anderson at the Desert Inn in 1989, and he is the only reason to watch his sitcom Baskets (on FX). I am really looking forwad to attending this.

Please give us a review when you get back.

I have to say that Louie as Mrs. Baskets is my absolute favorite part of that show. The rest of the show can be uneven, but Martha and Christine are my favorites. I keep hoping for a Thelma & Louise-esque spin-off show.

I can see Baskets morphing to what Happy Days did... start the show focusing on Richie Cunningham, but transitioning to become the Fonzie Show.

I think Chip is a fine charachter, as study of a sad clown.

Dale is the typical Zach Galifinaikis charachter and I could do without him. We need more of the rodeo owner instead.

We saw Louie on our honeymoon in '99 at the Monte Carlo--he was goddamn delightful!
Christine Baskets made me cry last night when she lost it at the bank about her dead mama.
I hope he wins more awards for playing her.

I was shocked they killed off poor Meemaw in the Casino. Tried a couple of times to see Louie at the Plaza but he cancelled both times. Apparently that was pretty common for him to no-show.
