I just got back from the tv playup offer in Vegas. Although I didn't win (hardly ever do) I had a good time and had a week of entertainment. I started the week at tunica which I actually liked quite a bit. The property was very clean, great for craps (lots of tables), and terrific people.

I am looking for my next getaway and would like to try someplace new. I was thinking:

bossier city but there is a major drawback of getting there. No direct flights form NYC area

Hammond but there is no hotel. However with my play they would likely put me up at private property.

Caesars SI. Again no direct flights until March.

bluffs. There will be direct flights again starting in March.

Blackhawk. There are direct flights now but man I really hate the turbulence flying in/through Colorado.

    what would you choose.

FYI - Blackhawk is well over an hour - maybe 1.5 from Denver airport and rental cars are not cheap. Heading into the mountains are of course great.

    New Orleans?

    Atlantic City?

Answers during the height of covid vs 6-12 months from now could change things quite a bit.

    $25

Tunica Craps was $15 on the real table, $10 on the Electronic based table which is really cool. My home property is in AC. Not really much of an adventure. NOLA is ok- bene there several times and have great offers. I just like the excitement of seeing someplace new.

With your play, I am sure Hammond will find you a hotel. But, (always a but) the hotels are not real close and you have to be careful of covid restrictions. My opinion, much more restrictive on drinking/eating and playing...especially on tables.

I like council bluffs when something is going on in Omaha. I try and go in the summer if Miami makes it to the college world series.

Another decent option is southern indiana. They always treat me well there and I go on Derby weekend or during an even at the YUM center.

If you have a passport, my suggestion for next years CET adventure would be Caesars Windsor.

What is it about Caesars Windsor that you like? I believe the border is still closed now, correct? Also I can fly into Detroit?

This is pre covid. But the pros for Windsor for me are. Low table limits, USD is worth 20% more than CAD, so 1 TC & RC are earned with less USD. Almost every weekend they have at least one "national" act in the colosseum (5,000 seat arena). Non smoking gaming floor. Beverage station for coffee/soda. A nice variety of on-site food choices. No comp drinks is a bummer. Yes you can fly into Detroit and it would mostly take 2 modes of transportation to get across the border, unless you can find an Uber to do it.

The border is closed now and mostly likely for much of this year, but next year hopefully everything will be back to a more normal. So an idea for next years adventure.

At Horseshoe Hammond, you can no longer eat, drink, or smoke anywhere in the casino. There are a couple designated smoking areas (6th Street Bar - noon-midnight, and the Buffet), and a couple designated eating and drinking areas (The Eatery and Push Bar-drink only).

Also, with the Illinois casinos being closed, it gets extremely crowded on the weekends.

And if that weren't enough, they have been very short-handed with dealers due to covid restrictions, so there are sometimes more people waiting to play table games than are actually playing.

I would consider / Nola / Biloxi. You can easily do both in one trip.

I second NOLA/Biloxi if you've never been. NOLA only has Harrah's but it's a big casino. Biloxi has quite a few casinos and some are very nice. We always stay at the beau Rivage and love it there. You could fly into NOLA, stay a day or two, rent a car and drive to Biloxi. It's about a1 1/2 hr easy drive.
