We just returned from a month long trip to Las Vegas. We drove from Wisconsin and stayed in our condo. Pretty normal (boring) day to day stuff. So I won't go into detail. I gamble low limit almost every day go to the pool a couple times a day and we eat out often. If I'm getting killed gambling I find other stuff to do like hike in Red Rock or golf. We also spend time with family who live in Vegas. Two somewhat interesting things: We went to the service they had for Police Officers who had been killed in the line of duty In southern Nevada. It was held at a park out in Summerlin near the training facility. My niece had one of her officers killed and she goes every year and hosts his parents at her house with a get together. It's a very moving ceremony and they read the names of each officer. There are also stone makers in the park for each officer. I was interviewed by News 6 but didn't make the cut I guess I was a boring interview. If anyone wants more info on this I can get links etc. I don't keep real accurate records on my gambling but I was doing fairly well I guess a couple hundred up by the last day. In the morning of the last day (Memorial Day) I went to Gold Coast won a little on VP while racking up some 7X points. Then I went over to South Point and won a little at BJ. We spent the rest of the day doing wash and packing up to leave first thing in the morning. I then went over to Albertsons on Rainbow and Warm Springs to get some snack for the long drive home. I was going to stop at a bar and play some VP as I still had the itch but then changed my mind and decided to just put $20 through the VP at Albertsons. I was on the second to last spin with hardly a pair to show for my $20 when I held Q & 10 Spades and filled the A, K, J I was stunned to say the least played one more hand and took this home. Winning Trip! TomTWI
Nice going Tom!! Do you rent out your condo the rest of the time? iirc, it's up in the Centennial Hills area?
Our condo is in the southwest area close to Rhodes Ranch. I think Tom in Iowa has one in Centennial Hills. TomTWI
That's how it's done! I was checking out of Gold Coast on Memorial Day we proboblly crossed paths. I was the guy that didn't win.
That's very nice of your niece to hold that annual get together with the officer's family. I hope she stays safe. Great royal...when you least expect it!
