Went there for a convention in 2004 and stayed at Mandalay Bay.

Got an offer a year or so later for 3 free nights at Wynn and have been regulars (1-2 trips per year) at Wynncore since then.

Summer of 1998- with girlfriend at the time, wife now. We were dirt poor undergrads and getting ready to move so I could go to grad school. What better way to celebrate and spend $$$ that neither one of had to spare then go to Vegas for the first time. We booked the trip through a travel agent, stayed at the Monte Carlo, I wanted the Westward Ho to save money for more gambling. The flight was a junket with games and cheap alcohol to get everyone ready for Vegas, it was a pretty cool flight to say the least. We ended up taking a shuttle bus to the hotel in which the MC was the last stop. It probably took us a hour or so to get there from the airport. It was a great trip and I do remember coming home with some cash in our pockets. Crazy how our trips have changed and evolved through out the years. There are a lot of trips that are lost memories but the first one will always be fresh in our minds.

1982. Stayed at the now gone Westward Ho, the world's largest motel on the strip. In our younger days we used to walk from Excalibur to Circus-Circus and back. Must have been crazy.

Spring of 2007. My wife wanted to go to Vegas at some point that year to celebrate her 30th. Her parents went every year with her aunts and uncles on her dad's side and she wanted to see what the fuss was all about. I thought, "Yes, dear, whatever makes you happy". I mentioned to my best man that we were planning on going and he said he can get us really cheap rooms if we don't mind them coming with us. He could only get one room and asked if we didn't mind sharing the room and cost of it. 1/2 price rooms? Yes please! We arrived on a Saturday and that night was $60, and Sunday and Monday was $30. No resort fees yet. That price was before dividing it between us. We shared a room at MGM Grand.

I was really nonplus about going. I had no interest. We left our first born with the inlaws and we went. I fell in love with Vegas. We went back in November and while that trip was for a conference, I probably would have declined if it wasn't going to be in Vegas.

Labor Day weekend, 2008. Stayed at the Luxor. Went with my wife's best friend and her husband, who had been going for years. They showed us the best parts of Vegas, and we had a great time! Just completed my 26th trip last month. Needless to say, I LOVE the place!

First trip in 2006 for the WSOP main event.

1 night in Hooters and 3 weeks i a Masquerade suite at the Rio.

Been back every summer bar 2007/15.

Shortest trip 2 weeks, and longest trip 2 months.

I say to myself before I go each summer 'I'll go somewhere else next year', and I'm normally booked up for the following year before September :D

2008 was the first time me and my wife didn't just visit Las Vegas it was our first time in the U.S.A. We flew with U.S Airways via Philly, we stopped at Desert Resort. Watched Penn and Teller, Elton John and Tom Jones. The only reason we tried Vegas was because we watched CSI

Started in 1986, always staying then at Circus Circus.
Learned BJ and bought 2 books on card counting. Started counting cards around 1989, got asked to leave or evicted from multiple casino's around that time.
Still go 5x a year to this very day. Broke AF, but I still love the place!!

That's only happened to me once in Vegas - and that was at Circus in the 80s! They didn't ask me to leave - they just said I couldn't play blackjack anymore.
The north-strip area was a counter's dream back then. You had $5 S17 double-deck pitch or 4-deck shoes everywhere, and a few places (Circus, for one) offered $5 H17 3:2 single deck. I just kept my base bet low ($5) and never spread more than 1-4.

So true. Circus Circus' Pit Boss asked me to please go play somewhere else. LOL
So I'd go next door to Slots-O-Fun. Never ever been asked to leave there.
Haven't seen either place in like 20 years or so. :faint:

1975. Stayed at Tropicana. There have 2 new Trop's built since that one. Rodney Dangerfield was a lounge act. Across the road was The Hacienda. South on LVB there was literally nothing but desert until you got to Henderson.

i got major heat at the riv and a mild sunburn at the barbary.... the bc was famous for having pit critters scowl at you
and like you i never spread more than 1-4 but would parlay which would draw more looks
the Maxim was a dream as they didn't seem to sweat at all and even comped a coffee shop chit

Late Vegas bloomer, first trip was when I was 34 in 1997, 4th of July weekend. My memories of that trip are foggy but the friend I went with often helps us piece together stories of how the weekend went. From what I hear we had a great time!

Man, I was 34.... where'd the time go?

First trip was in '96. Stayed at the 'old' Aladdin. Was pretty wide-eyed coming in from the airport by shuttle. I'd never seen anything like it. Wasn't a big gambler and just started learning the ropes of video poker. Sands was still there, but closed and they were filming Con Air in front of it.( No Venetian-Palazzo of course) Bellagio was half built. Paris was a vacant lot. NYNY was pretty much finished but wouldn't open for a couple more months. Ate buffets every day including Circus Circus. Boardwalk casino had the best cheap breakfast at their cafe. Saw Mystere and legends in Concert. They're both still there! Didn`t get back to Vegas again till 2000 but have been coming at last once a year ever since.

April of 1995. Stayed at Excalibur. I had been cautioned to do other things in Vegas that are non-gambling focused by everyone. On the way home I lamented not spending more time at the tables.

Yeah - I had one really good session there that brought out all sorts of attention...the funny thing is, I was only counting for the first deck or two of that session...after that, my buddy & I just went on an incredible green-chip run & it was just basic strategy & alcohol-induced crazy variations from basic strategy!
Best single run of blackjack I've ever been on - and they were watching us both like a hawk... they actually "assigned" a cocktail waitress to us...I know, because I asked her when I noticed that she stayed with us even when we changed pits... my friend's Jack & Coke, and my Tanqueray & Tonic never ran out before she was right there with another - without us even asking for one.
