Wow, does that floor layout look different!
I was playing 9/6 JOB on this machine yesterday. This morning they did an update. JOB is gone.
What are the black curtains blocking off in the casino?
That's upstairs where they have/had VP.
Oleg works BHB Wed/Thurs 7a - 3p.
Fri - Sun at 777 north bar 5p - 1a.
No bottled IPA yet.
Wow, the main street casino looks dead. Yikes
Did I mention before you left how things change?
Players club area.
Ty, are you sure you didn't overlook?
I thought the exact same thing. I was really looking forward to leaving the strip and checking it out but now I have my doubts. We are mostly blackjack players and I can get just as good or better closer to my home base.
I overheard the bartender ask one of the managers about it. "No more jacks or better, not my decision, no more questions."
They do have 9/5 JoB on the two newer machines.
BP is now 7/5 on the one or two machines I checked.
I did find 8/5 BP on the floor.
Yesterday is was $10 to get one Tier Credit at BHB, was going to confirm this morning but ended up not playing at the BHB.
Great pics! I don't like playing at MSS, but I think it's one of the best looking properties in Vegas. I can't wait to check it out next week.
Bummer about JoB tho
Looks like the manager heard that you were here to take advantage of 9/6 Job with scratch card, he decided to remove all of them.
Following the lead of what happened at Fremont. I've wondered what would happen in the modern market if an entrepreneur like Benny Binion decided to run a casino as a labor of love rather than the current model of being run by accountants. An owner can view the property in totality while accountants look at profit centers in silos and want a profit in every aspect. I would also like a look behind the curtain at each casinos decision making process although I know that will never happen. Basically my impression is that a decision is made that doesn't have the desired result and rather than revisit the root cause they make a separate choice to eke out pennies in another area which starts a snowball effect.
Ok, ramble is done but the downtown properties (to visual observation) seem to be failing and the ball started rolling before Covid exacerbated the situation.
Las Vegas as a whole will keep on doing this and for the people in my demographic there will really be no reason to go there. Why spend a whole day getting there and back when I have better games and food just as good cheaper a whole lot closer to home. People like me like to play, eat and drink. We are too old to be into the club scene at all. Most people won't even notice the change, much like 3:2 vs 6:5.
Is the missing Jacks or Better only at $1 level or $.25 and $.50 too? Jeez...not just a downgrade but GONE?! WTF?! I assume that's a bartop machine?
Aww, man, no more 9/6 JoB at Boar's Head Bar? I feel like my dog died. This was my primary reason to play at MSS.
I know the term is "don't shoot the messenger" and you're just reporting the facts for the betterment of all-- but, damnit, Ty, suddenly I'm feeling some aggression to you...!
I recall some many, many years ago (10+ years) MSS removed full pay tables from the bar for a few days, but after after receiving way too many complaints they relented and put them back. Maybe history will repeat itself?
What a sad day indeed.
Since they just reopened, I'd assume they're going to be tweaking and trying things, which probably includes available games and adjusting pay tables. I wouldn't take anything as being set in stone yet.
