Following up - would love to hang out for a minute and grab a drink if our schedules align.

Thanks for the follow-up, you beat me to it. Sadly, I've had to move my Chicago/Vegas trip to the end of the month, can't do it earlier on. So our Vegas times won't align I'm afraid. I've got many more trips in the works... we'll make it happen sometime :) hope your trip is awesome!

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet... because I’m only at this post haha... but I was told in May (by the long time Oscars bartender) that Oscars is going to change their name and remove the “Broads” so you have a piece of history!

The problem is not with the dessert, it is with your technique. You tried eating that thing with a knife and fork. You gotta pick that fucker up and eat it like a burger!

You’re so right! Just gotta open my mouth and take a bite. Can’t be intimidated by a little thickness, right? :)

It took me a few days but really enjoyed the report. Kudos to you for managing to keep it engaging for such a long trip. Good luck to you on the next trip.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Next volume is indeed coming at the end of this month, starting on the 26th :)

Chicago - three days (Michigan Ave Hilton). Might be meeting up with ffejry depending on how our schedules line up.

Laughlin - four days (crashing at Four Queens once I get into Vegas, then taking a Greyhound down to Laughlin staying at Harrah’s)

Vegas - five days (Plaza, and MGM Grand)

Taking votes... anyone want dining/sightseeing footage from Chicago included in that TR? Or do we want to go straight to the action in Nevada? :)

Also, I PROMISE I will reply to the comments and questions I didn’t address in this thread, before I leave on this trip.

One more thing... Sonya/Breanna/Sh0ck if you happen to see this, for a TR of this nature, which section should I post it in? Thinking it’s Vegas but it’s also kinda non-Vegas. Please let me know.

If it's predominantly going to be a Vegas trip, then Vegas Trip reports, but you can also split them out to two reports.

I drive and include a little of my non-Vegas stuff in my Vegas TR's, but I try to keep the Idaho or Calif. content to a minimum. :)

Thanks Sonya! Definitely not doing two trip reports. I think no matter what happens I'll classify it as non-Vegas. I don't think people will have any trouble finding it, and making it as lively of a TR as this one once things get rolling :)

I’m sure you looked into it but instead of doing Greyhound is there not a casino bus that will take you to Laughlin?

You’re going to be the youngest person in that town.

I did look into it, because it is kind of logical that such a thing might exist. There was no such option clearly available from my searches, and Caesars made it clear that for Harrah's they don't offer such an option (https://totalrewards.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2227/~/harrahs-laughlin---transportation-to-las-vegas). But I quickly decided such an option would not be preferable (even if free) over Greyhound for two reasons...

    1. It would have to be on their schedule, and absolutely nothing could be better than Greyhound's schedule as far as the timing they offered. So best case it would be the same thing, worst case it would be inferior timing just to save a few bucks

    2. If such an option was to be available, it would likely leave from a more central location - whereas the Greyhound terminal is downtown, next to the Plaza, right where I want to be. My "crash pad" at Four Queens is $38 all-in, and I could not get any closer to the Plaza for my return. So between Uber/Lyft fares to get to/from downtown... or paying higher hotel rates to be closer to wherever the casino bus pickup would be, it would not really net out to any net cost savings (and would definitely net out to a time loss).

Haha, I am definitely aware I will be the youngest person in that town (of gambling age) :) I'll be there right around Labour Day, so there will be a lot of families with young kids (I booked the central tower as opposed to the north tower at Harrah's for exactly that reason). I've heard that Laughlin is known to be a seniors' town. So there will be some interesting sights at the very least... and I'm expecting I'll be on the receiving end of some "what's a young fella like you doing down here?"-type comments.

I think instead of NFC worrying about whether his TR goes in the Vegas or Non-Vegas TR area, we should just make a new area nere entirely for NFC's TR's only. That way, when you want to spin his TR's off into a separate website and charge for access, it will be easier to break off cleanly into its own website/app.

Absolutely fantastic report!! One of the best I've read on here. I will be in Vegas from September 5th thru the 12th. I know that it will be towards the tail end of your next trip, but maybe I will run in to you ( wear the flamingo outfit ). Thanks again!!
