Coming from Amsterdam I probably should know, but what is a vape pen? What is the effect? And what does it cost?

As a red thread through this report, I thought the price for this ticket was maybe a sign for good luck. :peace:

Really enjoying this trip report! Paris is one of my favorite buffets. I always go for the champagne brunch on Saturdays or Sundays.

Well, some things don't always go according to plan. Slept through my 6 AM alarm and woke up at 6:36. I could begin my day frantically rushing to make my 7 AM reservation, or I can do wonders for my stamina later on my setting my alarm for 8 and rolling over and shutting my eyes. I opted for the latter.

Will see if I can get in Paris buffet tomorrow, but if missing that is the price of my time at MSS last night, so be it. I will definitely need to get something in my stomach before too long though, I'm not used to missing breakfast.

Now, I am seated at the Caesars sports book ready to watch some college football, the main reason for my trip. The whole process with getting people with reservations to their seats was a bit of a shitshow, but who cares, I'm here.

The way these sports bets go will determine a bit about the rest of my trip. Right now, I'm counting them all as losses. If I were to magically win them all, I'd have $539 by my calculation. Could go a long way. But whether that happens or I have the same bad luck I had last time, I will be enjoying the ride.

First up, I have a parlay of Nebraska +2.5 at Minnesota and Michigan State +16.5 at Ohio State, both starting now. I also have Army +3 at Duke playing now as the first of a three-team Group of Five parlay.

If there's anything that concerns me, it's that 12 out of my 14 picks are the away teams. Oh well, they're my picks and I like 'em.

I would say the "munchies" side effect is in full effect! That's an impressive consumption of food!

So far, my Big Ten picks look like crap. Nebraska is losing to Northwestern 20-7, I have them +2.5. Michigan State is losing 21-0 to Ohio State, I have them +16.5. My shining star right now is Army, who is beating Duke 21-3. I have them +3.

No yelling or screaming from this guy though. I'm on cloud nine. Betting on college football is very fun for me, but the sport itself is just amazing even without betting. There are games going on today that I have no money on that I can't wait for. And the environment couldn't be more perfect.

Placed another parlay on my boss's behalf and got two more drink tickets so I should be good for the day.

Just took a walk back to Harrah's to pick up one of those mobile phone chargers - I know this makes me an obnoxious Millennial but on a solo trip having a working phone is important and my three-year-old phone cuts out before it gets to zero battery. So don't judge too much!

I come back to the sports book here at Caesars to find my prospects bleak. Minnesota is beating Nebraska by 23 late in the 3rd and Ohio State is beating Michigan State by 42 earlier in the 3rd. Fortunately they are in a parlay together so don't cost me two different ones.

Washington and Michigan State were two of the three picks in my "sure thing" parlay. Doesn't bode well for the third, Northwestern...

Meanwhile, Army is leading Duke 21-16 in the 4th and I have them +3. However, their parlay mate Middle Tennessee is starting out down 7 to Charlotte five minutes in. I have them -13. And SMU hasn't even started against Navy yet. I'm hoping things turn around because I'm counting on at least a couple of these hitting to cushion me on the table games.

Speaking of table games, I've been on the prowl. Was prepared to go in on a table if I could find one to my liking. That means $5/$10 blackjack, $5 ultimate Texas Hold'Em and $5 craps. Couldn't find an open spot at any of those and I doubt I'll find them at Caesars, except $10 blackjack. With the games about to get very good in an hour, looks like table games are pushed off till later tonight. But you never know...

Great updates! Damn Washington on the parlay. And now I will have to look closer at Cal again. I've been to the Grand Floridian, (hopefully again next month), and I have never noticed the Cal resembling it.

And I appreciate you renting those batteries, hope you win enough to tempt you to buy a new phone! I'm in the same boat as you, I have two spare batteries to last though heavy use days. Doh!

Having skipped breakfast, I was surprised I wasn't starving by noon. Eventually, about 12:45, I forced myself to eat. Last trip I ate at Mesa Grill which has a direct view of the entire sports book. It was delicious but I wanted to try something new.

That led me to Gordon Ramsay's Pub and Grill. Love the ambience. Well designed place. Had a TV right in my view featuring the Georgia Auburn game. I ordered a Coke, Bud Light (no Miller bottles) and the English Onion Soup and Pigs in a Blanket.

The soup was exactly the same as French Onion Soup, which is to say delectable. The Pigs in a Blanket were very nice sausages. Everything was very good. I ordered at first with the intention of getting an entree after, but as has become a theme this trip, my appetite is less ravenous than I anticipated so I just stuck with those two dishes which filled me up just fine.

Now it's decision time. The sports book is right around the corner. Some of my bets look decent, others not so much. I could go back and watch, or I could go find a table. I sat down at a $10 BJ table by the sports book earlier and lost $50. If there's a table open to my liking, my luck has to turn at some point.

I absolutely want to watch the Notre Dame/Miami and TCU/Oklahoma games live. Aside from that, I'm going with the flow and seeing what appeals to me. This is going to be a fun afternoon and night. Hopefully I end up a wealthier man!

Managed to quickly lose another $50 playing blackjack at Caesars. On top of that, my parlays are looking like shit. I'd be lying if I said my terrible gambling luck isn't putting a damper on this trip. As I've said, there's a decent amount I am willing to lose if I'm being entertained. But when the losses are trending north of 800, it stops being entertaining to watch the dealer snatch your chips.

I'm done playing at anywhere upscale this trip. The remainder of my non-sports gambling will be at Linq, Harrah's and Casino Royale. Flamingo would be in there but I've lost enough money there this trip already.

Beforehand I was at least going up and down. Now I'm just going down. I still have over 24 hours to go until I'm on my way to the airport, but I'm coming very close to my hard maximum. Stinks how much that can affect enjoyment of the trip.

All I need is for a couple of these parlays to hit and then I'm back on the upswing...hopefully.

Please excuse my bitching above. I momentarily forgot that I'm in Vegas and unlike in the past when I was here, I can actually afford to lose a little money. I don't come here expecting to come out ahead. If I pace myself, I can enjoy the rest of the trip and stay within my limits.

Football prospects are looking marginally improved at the moment. Stay tuned.

MSS is my favorite place to play craps!
Just like you said, the people at the tables and the dealers there are so nice. Everyone seems to have a great time.

Hang tough! I always have to remind myself why I went to all the trouble to fly there in the first place. Go to your corner, get your head right and come out swinging. One good hit or one good session is all it takes.

And just like that, ladies and gentlemen, this guy is $140 richer! It was an agonizing few minutes as SMU and Navy sat tied 40-40. In one of the weirdest moves I've ever seen in football, Navy's player could've easily run it into the end zone and make it a 7-point game (I had SMU +4) but seemed to purposely stop at the 1-yard line. One 18-yard field goal later and Navy wins 43-40. They join Army and Middle Tennessee as the Group of Five teams that won me almost all of my sports betting money back.

This was my most lucrative parlay and also the one I felt least confident about. I am ecstatic that it hit. Michigan also did well and now it's up to Northwestern to beat Purdue by 6 or more and I get $74. It is tied 5 minutes in. Hoping USC can hold on and win by 14 as well.

Before the main event games begin at 5, I'm going to try to find a quick snack.

Hoping this parlay hitting means my luck has turned!
