Ok, I guess a week out isn't too soon to start the TR, won't have much time this week to post anyway. Travel party will be me, my wife, my daughter, and her boyfriend, getting to Vegas Sat afternoon, leaving Thursday morning with reasonable noonish departures on both ends. This is a little more structured for us than usual, my daughter has several things she'd like to do and we've got more shifting around of hotels because she wants to stay at different places. Also, we want to check out the decorations at Wynn and Bellagio, so we'll spend a lot of time on the move.

Wife and I will stay at HGVC timeshare behind Flamingo Sat-Mon nights, "kids" are at MGM Sat/Sun and Caesars Mon, then we all move to Cosmo Tues and Wed. All the rooms are on my comps and had to burn up the timeshare points before the end of the year.

Sat we'll hit either Javier's or Lemongrass for dinner, then the youngsters want to hit Hakkasan. Wife and I will probably stay center strip after dinner and gamble at Aria and Bellagio.

Sun we're thinking about Morimoto for dinner and then Carrot Top Sun night.

Monday is a CET day. Thinking about seeing Fat Elvis, dinner at Martorano’s (never tried it), and either Napoleon's or Harrah's piano bar...something else my daughter wants to do, I hope they have karaoke so I can post videos of her singing on her Facebook page for all her friends to enjoy!

Tuesday we're going to do lunch at Jaleo and we have a fire pit (cabana) reserved at the Cosmo ice rink in the evening. Really looking forward to the ice rink, looks like a fun holiday thing to do and a nice menu of holiday cocktails!

Only thing on the agenda for Wednesday is dinner at Wicked Spoon.

Drinking and gambling throughout, of course! As usual, I'll post pics and commentary as we go.

I just saw a post about the Harrah's piano bar being closed for remodeling. Bummer for me too since I'll be in Vegas with my daughter and her BF that same week. She's never seen Big Elvis and this is her BFs 1st Vegas visit.
Still plenty to do though. Maybe we'll stumble into each other.

Just saw that too...many alternatives tho. I plan on doing a lot of stumbling!

Can't see Big Elvis lasting too much longer now. Cancelling his performances very often now and with the remodelling maybe he is on the way out (hope not).

Such a shame he is actually very good.

Seems like he's been like that for years actually. That space was pretty small. His performances always had the place packed with people standing outside looking in. So, maybe they just needed a bigger place for him. Let's hope. It's one of very few Vegas institutions from the past that's still around.

Looking forward to living Vegas with you on this trip.

Dinner at Morimoto sounds awesome I hear it's great place... please share your reviews after

Oh boy an Irish Dave tr! Perhaps on my days off I will make a drinking game based on your cocktail pic posts! Have a great time and win lots! Let us know how Morimoto is. I plan to try that place in a few months.:feedme:

  • Summer reboot!
Just changed to a Friday evening departure, forecast for 1-3 in of snow and freezing rain after midnight Fri, that will send this area into more of a tizzy than the new administration...lands at 11:15pm, but I'm pretty sure we'll get out!

Now kids are staying MGM Fri/Sat, Caesars Sun/Mon...guess we'll do Morimoto on Sat.

Tell us what game you come up with and let us all share!! I'll definitely do a review if we go according to plan and eat there, my daughter can be really picky...

Good morning Vegas!!

Changed flight from this am to late flight last night to get out before the freezing rain hit the local area, glad I did. Traffic was miserable as usual, strong headwinds gave us about a 400 mph ground speed and we didn't land until midnight, but get made it!

Got the kids into MGM and to got our room at HGVC Flamingo about 1:30am. By body was telling me it was 4:30, so I crashed. Wife goes to gamble, but A about 3am she wakes me up. She lost her phone, ugh

Find my phone says it's still in Flamingo so we head over to look for it and I put the list phone message with my number on it. Quick scan of where she was doesn't find it. High limit room it dead so I go talk to pit boss and describe phone. He call it in and about 10 mins later security calls me and says they have it. 1st big win of trip!!!

I know Flamingo doesn't have the best rep, but all the staff I dealt with were great. Professional and they all seemed genuinely interested in helping.

Hope that's a good omen!
