Hey all, heading to Vegas in less than a month for the first time in a decade. The group decided on the linq. Got the basic King room. Couple questions. How is it going to be staying there? Is the basic room worth upgrading from if possible?

Stopped there for 4 nights last year in a basic twin bed room, not sure what the exact title of it was but its probably the most basic room I have stopped in during my 7 Vegas trips. Like a travellodge/holiday inn standard room.
That said, we only slept in the room so it was fine and it was cheap.

We found the main casino/o sheas and the pool excellent though, as long as you like a lively and fun atmosphere and the people it brings along with it.

Ate a couple of times at Guy Fieris and it was okay, but nothing special.

Lifts are limited so at busy times, you might wait a few minutes or be packed in like sardines.

If you are sharing you may want to upgrade to king junior suite, because it has a bathroom and a half bath.

I'll definitely second Stuart on the limited elevators. There is the "secret" bank that's kind of around the corner from the main bank that most people forget about. They've redone a lot of the casino space into video gaming areas (you can rent out a booth with playstations and xboxes). O'Shea's is great, just be prepared to have to beat the hell out of the buttons on the video poker machines at the bar. The hotel itself isn't bad at all, and the wife and I were fine in a basic King room. That entire area of the strip is a blast though, since you can walk from the Venitian/Palazzo to the Cromwell pretty quickly.

Rooms cozy but redone (think Ikea)
    Fairly central location
Bath only big enough for 1 unless 1 of u is in shower
Yep elevators suck but 2nd bank behind the 1st one is better.
    I’d stay again no prob

Not stayed since those days, but did a 3 week stint at IP in 2008 during WSOP. Serviceable hotel, even before the refurb, and looks much more going on nowadays.

Used to love that Karaoke Bar upstairs, and the Burger Palace!

LINQ/OSheas is just about my favorite place to gamble on the strip. The craps table at O'Sheas is awesome - and if you like frozen drinks the frozen bailey's there is amazing (my ex was a big fan, and even I like it for a breakfast drink).

The casino is smallish and can get loud with a lot of through traffic though if thats a problem for you, and you see a lot of rookie moves at craps (buying in during a roll, hands over rail, etc) if that is a deal breaker.

I've only ever stayed there once for 1-2 nights (can't recall) in the deluxe room and it was fine. As has been said, a bit small, but more than passable. Biggest issue, as stated, were the elevators, but I didn't have any actual problems with them - just slow and crowded at peak times.

But overall I would say a good choice, especially if you're there for Vegas and not for the room. Enjoy!!!

Rooms are small but clean and well put together for how we travel. There were three of us in a basic two bed room and it was fine. Location is great. The hotel/casino are very lively. And as everyone said, just know about the second bank of elevators and you're good to go.

Love the Linq / O'Sheas casino and love the location. The actual rooms at Linq are pretty meh but functional.
