    My Trip Report

Quicky summary of lessons learned at the Linq last weekend.

    Hotel:
Not a fan of the pool - just a big normal pool - so crowded you could hardly get in and stand.
Basic 2-full bed room was fine - nothing special - but the wait at the elevators was always a drag.
One nice thing is having the hash house right in there, and the in/out burger right outside. Also can't beat the central location - I brought a friend, first timer, and being in the middle really helped him nail the whole strip experience. Having said that - I'm passing next time - for that same reason. Just too much man - must be getting older :)

Weather started hot as crap - but on Sunday - I swear it was snowing at the top of The STRAT Tower. Most rides shut down too. Side-note, its eerie taking the tram out to SLS and the Strat. They seem like they are in a different state! I don't get staying out there, did not feel safe at all walking even between those two hotels during the day.

Saw Zumanity - admittedly was a little weird - just two guy friends sitting there, but show was killer. Mohawk dude and the little guy were insane!

Gambling on the strip sucked balls. Just lost constantly. Was pretty busy with the Derby, Cinco, and Fight all that weekend. Made it louder, funner, and also utterly exhausting.

Best part of the whole trip - Fremont Street!!! Hit that Sunday afternoon/evening till like 3am, and was one of the best times ever to be had! Mob Museum is way cool, Getting spanked at heart attack by spicy waitress - won big at 3-card poker and craps in the nugget. However - the street party vibe, with the amazing music, and utterly flabbergasting light show - bars right along the walkway - casinos you can actually get in and out of without getting lost - cashiers you can find easily - It just made the whole trip. I can see staying downtown next time, maybe visiting strip during the day and seeing a show - but gotta be back DT at night - just so much more laid back and fun!

I did run into some beggars there - more aggressive than on the strip. Perhaps it was the like 7 long islands, but an old crazy dude who keeps talking football at me for 10 minutes is hysterical and worth 5 bucks.

For new people - always make it a point to walk through the shop areas usually back past the casinos - Bellagio, Caesars, NYNY, Venetian - they are just incredible! Its a lot of walking - but worth it. Stop at the tent place between Caesars and the Bellagio - nice big and potent drinks there.

Next time will either stay downtown (prolly), or down at Mandalay Bay or something, away from the super hustle-bustle

    Viva Las Vegas!

Did you find the bank of elevators behind the main bank of elevators?

Yeah - towards the end. Sneaky buggers. Truthfully - most times returning to the room was a crapshoot as I was completely hammered, so who really knows?

Ah...a man after my own heart! It's not a trip to Vegas until you try your key in the door and realize you are 4 floors off.
