OMG...I wonder if it's the same dude that was sitting next to me at a $1 quick hit machine at Paris. I'd totally forgotten about that until I read this. I had a dude I might describe similarly talking to the machine, non-stop, in very similar fashion! Gave me the heebie jeebies a little. Wasnt sure if he was really mentally abnormal or just really excited about the slots, but the things he said ranged from thanks and praise to threats of extreme violence. He fortunately ended up moving not too long after I sat down next to him!

@MCann Yeah, some people can be a bit unnerving. This guy was flat out funny. He was courteous to the CW and made the security guard who wandered over laugh out loud at least twice. Just liked to let his inside voice out.

Vegas people watching is the best.

@Retrobabble - that's the best thing I heard all day!

And now I don't feel crazy for naming animals in slots (right...? Right?) - Frankie, that's a good one. I'll have to remember that on my next Buffalo game.

@Retrobabble - oh you bet! I must admit though, singing the "I want a bonussss" song to Kevin did not work, as Kevin did not give me a bonus. Jerk of a kangaroo, but I still believe!

Thank you for the kind words. I’m a little belated here, but wanted to respond.

The cheekier title had something to do with earthquakes and on reflection, I didn’t want to be too flippant for those who were experiencing their first earthquakes.

Love your toad. Good photographer. :D

Retro I am SO glad you had a great trip, and I loved reading it! Also Thank you on the cheekier update. I wasn't going to bug you again but I am always a sucker on curiosity for a "cheekier" comment. :)

Great trip report and I am still jealous of your pig!

Oh I am envious after reading all the reports; you all had a blast!

Thanks for introducing Frankie, to think I’ve been calling him Dick ;). I’ll apologize to him in December.

It was fun! Also, I think I’ve called the buffalo worse than Dick on occasion. Stoopid buffalos. (Says the person who beetles over to them the second she arrives in Vegas.) i’m still a bit tickled at the name Frankie.

    Final recap:

I love the Wynn but the slots are meh. I know there's a thread about service slipping but I never saw it. Service was amazing as always. If you've ever been in the hospitality industry, especially overseas, you know how much training these folks have had. Had great dining at the restaurants. The entire Wynncore is one spotless resort. If you get up early, you'll see why--lots of stone floor polishing and tile replacement, flower change-outs, vacuuming. I'm very appreciative of all their hard work.

I left management a review saying that their one area lacking is the slots and that I wished they could be more like the Cosmo with all the up-to-date slots (with kudos to @Cosmopolitan_SlotVP.) I come to Vegas approx. every 6 months. I'm not a high roller, but my spending and length of play on slots is enough for hosts to seek me out. I mentioned that there are always new slots at Cosmo, while the Wynn has mostly variations on ones they already have. I find myself drifting to Cosmo for slot play every trip. There are three reasons why I'm not at Cosmo: the rooms (not fond of the new remodel), the lack of security on the elevators up to the rooms, and the beds/pillows. Wynncore beds and pillows are so good. Anyway, doubt I'll hear anything but at least they have my two cents.

Weather was great -- actually got to 79 one night which I don't ever remember seeing in other July trips. Info for those of you on your beginning trips: I'm always cold in July because the ac is set so low. I need to go outside at least 2-3 times a day to warm up. Your mileage may vary.

In other news, I could use a Sinatra Smash at the moment.

Hi retro, I just realized some of the similarities we have regarding our enjoyment of Paradise. We do one about every 6 months now with an occasional 3rd trip. A mid roller that plays slots for long intervals gets me comps and a nice host that covers backend comps at mlife, Cosmo, Wynn, V/P.
Love the Wynn but the slot selection is not great, nor do I win there, lol.
The slots, food, and terrace are a draw at Cosmo but absence of elevator security and in the casino is definitely an issue.

You excel in high end delectable dining and cocktails, I’m a bit, or a lot, bourgeois in dining choices. :feedme:

Your TR’s are so enjoyable, I really look forward to them.

We do indeed have many similarities, @Geogran, and thank you for the nice words.

If you stay at Wynn in the future, try an experiment: Consider trying the Encore slot side. It’s smaller, but for some reason, my money seems to last longer on that side.

The last few trips have certainly been some food extravaganza blowouts for sure. However, I feel compelled to mention that I’ve chowed down on the bbq place at the Container Park with all the enthusiasm/speed of a long-haul trucker. :feedme: Love a good hot dog too. Pub food. Which reminds me: there is a HUGE pretzel that is horrendously expensive at Charlies, but it’s the closest I’ve had to Bavarian style in a long time. Nom nom nom.
