It's been a hot minute since we have been back to the motherland for degens. Our last trip was over NYE in 2023/2024. We departed on Jan 1, 2024. That was an interesting trip to say the least. Our first NYE in Vegas, our first time enjoying Norovirus when traveling. It was a trip full of firsts and I can honestly say some of them I'd rather not repeat. We made the best of it and made memories for sure.
Given our time lapse between visits sadly I am bumped back to Sapphire, which is new territory for me as I've had more status than that back to 2016 or so. Surprisingly (or maybe not so) I still had some offers kicking around. We LOVE the LUX, always have, hopefully always will. It was our first property and while we have stayed in. We've stayed in many others in the MGM world and others we are always drawn back to 'home'. Our offer was the standard 4 night 150 F & B/150 Freeplay. Nothing to get excited about to say the least buy hey I'll take that considering I've dropped nothing into MGM's coffers for almost 20 months. I snagged a pyramid room back in Aug when we booked it and life has been busy and didn't think much about this trip until recently. Earlier in the week I gave LUX a call and asked to be moved to the tower as we are not huge fans of the pyramid. I've always had decent luck and for the most part the CSR have been good to us. I was moved into the tower which we love and the upped my offer to 250/250. Also no resort fee. I'll take that and then some.
So off we go (hopefully) at stupid o'clock to arrive before noon tomorrow. Plans are open; nothing specific really. Besides make Pearl at least. We'll likely do what we do; hit up many properties, wander, and generally mis-behave. Ri Ra is a tradition for us going back 10 years, we ALWAYS visit. Apart from that nothing is written in stone. I am still actively trying to convince my wife to attend the meet up and meet some internet crazies.... It's a work in progress.
3 nights only so we are traveling light and hope to be at the pool at LUX tomorrow by 1 for some pool time. It's still open and we figure why not.
That's the pre-amble. Not sure how live this TR will be, if i am true to form it will be peppered with blurry photo's, profanity and probably other nonsense. What I can usually guarantee is some level of entertainment value.
