  1. Greetings everyone, we are finally one our way to the city that never sleeps, so before I head out their I thought I wouldask the experts if you had anylast minute tips and advice for the "Rookie Vegas Couple". We are staying at the Alladin and we are going to see Mystere at Treasure Island Sunday night. Other than that, we have no big plans. So, drop us a line. I appreciate all your comments! [IMG]

    Here are my tips:

    1. See at least three Bellagio Fountain shows while there.

    2. Take trams, taxis, busses, or whatever as often as possible. It may not seem like a long walk from the Mandalay Bay to Ballys, but TRUST ME it is.

    3. Tip the hotel cleaning crew daily. Some people think tipping them at the END of your trip is good enough, but sometimes there are different people cleaning your room every day so if you leave a tip big enough to cover the week, the person cleaning you room will be getting other people's tips.

    4. Pick up as many coupon books, fun books, ect as you can. Many things have a 2 for 1 deal on them if you know to find the coupon. Saving money is always a good thing.

    5. Ignore the timeshare people. The second you start answering their questions, they will bug you and talk your ear off trying to sell you a timeshare plan. The easiest thing to save time is just to either ignore them or say "No" firmly and walk away without looking back.

    6. Take lots of pictures!

    7. HAVE FUN!!!! [IMG]

    A few more tips--

    Always split aces and eights.

    Always double on eleven

Don't set your purse down while playing slots.

    Wear comfortable shoes

    Tip the dealers

    Tip the waitresses

Don't let the cab driver take you through the tunnel

Take notes first thing every morning, so that you can write a good trip report for the rest of us!!!

There are so many great restaurants in Las Vegas, you owe it yourself to have at least one outstanding meal. Although, leaving so soon, you might not be able to get a reservation.

Check out the Conservatory at the Bellagio, the pirate show at TI, the volcano at the Mirage, the Forum shops at Caesars, the Canal shops at the Venetian.

Grab a drink at the Ghost Bar or Vodoo Lounge (but get there early so you don't have to pay cover) and watch the lights from the strip.

Don't mistake the Porn passers for coupon book people.

Take notes so you can tell the board about it when you get back.

Bring a good pair of walking shoes.

Be sure and visit my favorite area-Downtown. While there pick up the 3pm magic show at the Fitz for one $3 drink-the 5pm show (great impersonator) and the 7pm show if you like Elvis-again one $3 drink. Have a $5.95 prime rib dinner at the California and watch a coupla Light Shows. There's also a comedy show at the Plaza (one drink w/coupon) if you have time. Above all enjoy your trip and plan on sleeping when you get home! ;) [IMG]

I think everyone has it covered. The only things I can add are:

-Your last cocktail of the night should be Advil, Immodium, and lots of water (it never fails).

    -Tipping everyone IS NOT required.
