Table Games Laying odds in Craps

I will be trying laying odds bet by playing the Don't come bet for the first time.
I had a quick question on this.

Suppose the point is established by the shooter. On the next roll, I play the Don't come and the point is 4. I lay odds on the 4. The shooter rolls the pass line number and the game is in off mode.

Now on the come out, roll is 4. Will I lose the DC base bet and the odds bet as well or only the base DC bet? Do the odds on lay work during the come out?

Unless I am misunderstanding the OP's question, I do not think this is right. You are correct on a come bet when there is a new come out roll. But on the don't come, every casino I have ever played it, the odds are working on a new come out roll.

I've always seen DC odds and lay bets working on the comeout unless called off, just the opposite of right-side odds and buy bets which are off unless called on.
