    My Trip Report

Decided to go to Laughlin and half an hour later we were in the car. It's only 252 miles from our house. Called the Avi Casino and they said they would give me casino rates which were $20 per night. Good enough for me and they said to check before we left and they would see what they could do for me. Checked on the second night and the pit boss said he would take care of the rooms. :nworthy:

Avi is an Indian casino, but, it's in Nevada and is no different than any other Nevada casino. It is located about twenty miles south of the city of Laughlin. It sits on the Colorado River and has a great pool and beach. The craps table was $1 minimum with 3-4-5 odds. The BJ was $1, $2, $3 and $5 min. They have very good VP at the bars.

This year has been a very good year for me as far as luck goes. After many trips to Vegas, Laughlin and our local Indian casinos I am ahead for the year. Not too many years have I been able to say that but there have been a few and this is the best one.

First night, the VP was very good to me. Had my credits up to $1,800+ without hitting anything big. No royal or four aces. Played the one dollar craps and cashed out of there for $611 with a $100 buy in. Even the BJ tables were good, but I don't remember how much I cashed in for. In the morning though, I woke up with $2,500+ in my pocket. :evillaugh

The wife even came home ahead about $100. But she counts the several hundred that I gave her as winnings. It's more fun when we both win.

Nothing else exciting happened but it was a very fun trip for the both of us.

I think you're about the perfect distance away from Nevada. An easy half-day drive (well, 2 1/2 if you let me have the wheel!), but far enough way so you're not tempted to go every week. Good job on the winnings this year as well.

BTW, shouldn't it be a "sperm of the moment" trip instead of "spear of the moment? :) (That's an old Archie Bunker line in case you didn't recognize it.)

No, I haven't had the pleasure. I take it that a) he drives even faster than me, and/or b) a half-day trip wouldn't deter him from daily trips to Nevada!

We went seven weekends in a row one time and I wasn't retired then.
