    First timer here for Vegas....

our flight doesn't get into about 11 pm
The hotel rates for September 16 are a bit crazy
However, Sunday on is more manageable.

Is there a hotel near the airport that is cheap and safe for one night??

    Thanks!!

If I remember correctly, MGM was pretty close to McCarran airport... but don't hold me to that... I've only been to the airport once in all my times in Vegas. I took a cab ride from the airport to Planet Hollywood ... took about 10-15 minutes.. MGM is closer towards the airport so I can't imagine it being too far from the airport.

If I were you, I would book something and quickly. There is a fight that night and that's why most places are showing sold out.

Just plugging that date into Expedia, there are a few options I would consider:
    Ellis Island - $140
    Silver Sevens - $167
Four Points By Sheraton - $189
Travelodge Las Vegas Center Strip (across from Aria on the Strip) - $178
    Lucky Dragon - $178
    Circus Circus - $190

Though, if you expand your search to downtown, you find a few under $180
    Plaza
    El Cortez
    Four Queens

If you have points, there is a Hyatt place and a Sheraton 4points both near the airport and without resort fees. Last time I checked, Hyatt was 8000 Hyatt points and four points was about 3000 SPG points. Doesn't pay to use points when rates are low but it may when rates are high.

Listen to SH0CK - major fight weekends are crazy in Vegas. Book something ASAP - if it is refundable then you can always cancel if you find something better.

Have you booked the remainder of your trip? You may find it worthwhile to spend the extra bucks for Saturday if it saves you the hassle of moving. I'm guessing rates that night are grotesque, though.

I have no experience with ANY of the properties listed by SH0CK, but the word on the board is that the rooms at Excalibur are just fine, and Lucky Dragon is a brand new hotel & casino. Silver Sevens is close to the airport and may have been updated recently IIRC.

The rooms at Ellis Island may be the Super 8 rooms they just converted. The Travelodge looks awful - no way that is better than the Four Points or Hyatt at the airport.

I'm a frequent Airbnb user but i would be careful using Airbnb in Las Vegas especially arriving late. There are several sketchy neighborhoods near the strip. Be sure you know where it is. Definitely heed the reviews.
