    My Trip Report

Took my truck into the local Dodge dealership to get serviced, recalls, brakes and check engine
light. Got my rental car for free from the dealer (the new style Chrysler 300, surprisingly nice car,
all leather with full everything) and off we went from San Diego on Thursday around 10:00. Arrived
around 3:00 after a nice, brisk and uneventful drive up. Checked into the El Cortez and got my free
three night, $25 in food/drink and $25 in free play. after decompressing we went to Excalibur for a
rare strip visit. Thru My Vegas we did the two free tickets to Australian Bee Gees, $50 off $100 at
Camelot Steakhouse and also $25 off $50 at the Lounge. So we got our drink on, our food on and
then our show. Fake Bee Gees were okay, nothing special. i am 52 and felt old but all good.

Friday, Saturday consisted of Downtown shenanigans, hanging at the pool at Downtown Grand, hitting
Oak and Ivy (our favorite place for a drink anywhere in Vegas) at the Container Park, where they had
a really good band playing in the park (we were sitting above Oak and Ivy and the breeze was amazing).
That was Friday night and Saturday night we watch a cover band called Stoked (who we have seen
previously) at Mickey Finz. Hard rock and super talented trio, always great to watch them. The missus
left on Sunday for a work convention in Oklahoma (at an Indian casino, no less) so i dropped her off,
checked out of Hotel and went on a coupon run. I was down $350 playing BJ to that point but turned a
$25 match play and a get out of hand free coupon, along with a $200 buyin, into $700 at the D. Won $50
on my $10 free play at Binions (the slot club employee had to point out that i never gamble there except
for my free play) and then stopped at Buffalo Bills at Stateline and won about $60 more playing BJ while
waiting for an accident to be cleared. Didnt get too specific with this report, was just a nice, quick getaway
and we both had an amazing time. Thanks, all!!
