Now thats funny!!!
Good write up!
NO soup book for you!
Very nice report, Becky. It surprised me that you hadn't been to Sam's Town. Don't know why...just figured you'd been there. I'll be looking for that soup book to hit the best sellers list.
Good luck on the move.
It's so exciting when you finally get a move date set! Sounds like you had an enjoyable last hurrah before becoming a local, but don't despair, playing tourist in your own back yard is just as fun - better even, no airline fiascos and no long waits at the airport. Good luck with the move!
We toured Planet/Aladdin yesterday and we were blown away by the changes. I absolutely love the new look and decor. We had drink and relaxed in the funky chairs in the lounge. Funny, we actually commented that we liked the music; they played a couple tunes from the 70's and from today. I understand where you're coming from, though. We got stuck in the casino, too. Weird, the way they have the exits blocked it doesn't seem safe.
In your soup adventures have you come across a good cream soup? I hardly ever see them listed on menus.
Cream of anything in particular soup?
The best two creamy soups I've had (a yummy clam chowder at Wynn not counting since it's a chowdah not a cream soup) were both at Mon Ami Gabi at lunchtime. I had a creamy carrot and ginger soup once and another time the most delicious cream of parsnip soup.
I also loved the caramelized onion and artichoke soup at Emerils'... it was creamy too, although not really a cream OF soup.
I'd be happy if I could find something as simple as a cream of chicken soup. I'll keep those in mind, though, thanks.
I'm sure you won't remember but how much was the cab ride from Alladin to downtown?
Good report.thanks. And Good Luck on your move.
I've been here since February. Some ups, some downs... whadyaknow - it's not so different from life anywhere else? Except way hotter....
And no, absolutely no clue what the cab ride cost back in January.
Becky...I've been curious.... (wondered about Mikey too)... do you think it took away any of the Vegas magic and excitement by living there?
One thing I noticed, especially last week, was listening to John get all geared up for his trip. That pre-Vegas anticipation is gone, and I miss that.
I am getting really tired of triple digit heat for about 40 days straight now though....
