My first trip to Europe as a college student on a tight budget, I learned that if I didn’t want to pay for water, the answer to that question was “tap water, please.”

Love NoMad, thanks for the suite pix. Good luck for the rest of your trip!

Because I called the Captain over and very politely said .."geez, I'm so stupid. It's not like I don't eat out all of the time. But when you said 'still or sparkling?' I assumed 'still' was just tap water. When the guys next to me sat down and I saw them get water from a pitcher, I realized what happened. "

And the Captain very politely said "don't worry about it."

Holy Moley, was Bellagio busy last night. Crowds like that bring out all kinds of human behaviors. The jockeying for position to see and take pictures in the Conservatory has to be worthy of some anthropologic study.

Went to play after the hordes in the conservatory.... hard to find an open seat...tables or slots.

First seat, a woman approached me, held up a ring. I thought she was suggesting I dropped it. "That's not mine"
"No, it is mine. I am going to sell it to you." I said no. First time I was approached like that inside a casino. Wish my smart-ass react-o-meter had been working. "Go see how much luck you have with a ring over there, by the Hobbit slot machine!"

And then I accidentally started something by walking up to an unoccupied slot and inserting my ticket before sitting down, before really looking. A woman hustled up "no no no!" At first I thought she was going to argue she'd been waiting. But then she pointed, her card was in the machine. She was actively playing, had stepped over to her husband at the next machine.

I apologized. It took her a second to realize I wasn't going to argue about playing. Then I stated "But I put my ticket in already." And she replied that I'd have to call security. She was unpleasant, but not really irrational.

My ticket, cash out from prior machine, was probably $3. I was ready to walk away.

Enter the belligerent husband. Who acted like I was hassling his wife. Started getting my face. Raised voice "Now I can't enjoy myself because you're bothering us. Get away from us" I tried explaining it was an honest mistake, I was sorry. He started pacing back to his machine, then back to his wife's. Repeatedly accused me of wrongdoing. He asked how much my ticket was, and when I said only two or three dollars, with my next phrase intended to be "so don't worry about it." But the belligerent big shot pulled out a $5 bill and thrust it at me. I started looking to see if I had singles, wanted to give them change - don't know why I cared, but I wanted them to know I'd made a mistake - but he insisted I go. Not sure why, but he reminded me of my attendance at NFL games when some guys get a little drunk, and seek confrontation.

As I walked away, I realized that they probably thought the whole thing was my scam to fleece people for cash.

An hour later, as I was leaving, they were still at the same pod of slots.... wife seated and playing, he stood there tapping on the screen and loudly lecturing his wife about something. What a hothead!

    Breakfast at Primrose.
Once again, despite a longing, I didn't order the pancake.

Eggs Benedict with mushrooms instead of ham.

Oh yeah, I have a MyVegas award. (It used to be fruit cup or a pastry. Last time I got one small muffin. Server checked POS, it's the entire pastry basket.)
    "I can't eat all that"
"Get it," she replied. "It's worth $11."
    I got it to go

Edit... pastries got wrapped in napkins, then plastic, and made the trip home with. Probably smashed... they'll be tomorrow's breakfast.

    Nearing departure.

Good trip, except for gaming. Travel was seamless. Room upgraded. Dining was great. I enjoy moving between MGM properties. Aria and Bellagio holiday decorations are up. Enjoyed meeting @44inarow. Requalified Platinum for 2022. Ordered my HGS gift.

Unfortunately, it was, by far, my worst gaming trip ever. So bad, I considered departing a day early. If I hadn't reviewed my year-to-date win loss, all properties, for some perspective, I probably would have left.

If there's any upside, in addition to covering my suite, my resort credit offer, host on duty covered my spend. Nice guy, took his card.

I have 45 minutes until check-out. Time to pack.

    Home. No travel hassles.

Best thing about home compared to Nomad. WC-proximity.

Makes me want to RUN not walk to Michael Mina!

Too bad about the ahole machine hog in Bell. Glad you left.
People like that are karma suckers, so even if they let you have the machine?
I woulda left so wouldn't have to play anywhere near them.

Glad you made it back home & still have some weekend left.
Are you going back for NYE?
