That Bardot meal looked fantastic. We are big fans of Bardot also, particularly for Brunch.

I didn't come close to eating all that. I doubt I ate half.

After seeing the platters being delivered to tables around me, I asked my server! "The kitchen's just preparing the servings, right? Same size being served to tables of one, two or four?" And she said yes. Adjacent parties of two got exactly what I got. Party of three got same except slightly more proteins came on separate turkey and ham platters. The only things portioned were one deviled egg and one slice of pie per person.

I would have actually preferred less. I understand kitchen efficiency and bountiful presentation... but really, seving a solo a charcuterie platter for four, is just wasteful.

Saving stroke... I took some leftovers. I took the charcuterie except for rilletes. I took the little baguette that Bardot serves. And I took the turkey dark meat, which was smoked. But I left tons of stuffing, mashed potatoes, most of the sweet potatoes, apple chutney, cranberries. Left more than half of the white meat turkey, ham and pie. Only things I came close to finishing were brussels and mushrooms. Oh, and the deviled egg.

I can report that I just had my oddest brunch, oddest in-room meal, ever.

For brunch today, I had Thanksgiving leftovers. I suppose that's appropriate, sorta traditional, day after Thanksgiving. Except mine were Paté, fancy (prosciutto-like) ham, cheeses and some smoked dark meat turkey. Oh, and a Fiji, of course.

And I still have more turkey tucked away in the fridge here; it was a humongous piece.

I had about 7,000 tier credits I earned during my slot heater this morning between 7 and 10AM not show up until a little after 11AM. They seem to show up in large chunks now as opposed to near real time.

First time I really noticed Veer towers up close, I was about as drunk as I've ever been in Vegas, in motion on the monorail, and took me a minute to confirm it wasn't an acid flashback or something

    Re Fiji

    What I taste is Sucker

I sat down. Was asked "still or sparking." Like some rube whose never dined out, I said "Still." It wasn't until folks at next table got water from a pitcher, I realized.... "how stupid am I. Probably paying $30 for that Fiji. And I have a room full of them"

And now I want my Scrooge McDuck back.... and wonder if I even have it

Yeah they're not bad but I agree, the markup on them is asinine. I know there's a few here, not you but others, who get it more as a status symbol which is equally as asinine. If I'm given one at CP when at the tables I'll obviously take it, but I've seen some players act bratty when they're told they can't get one comped, which seems to be the deal these days at CET. I try to roll my eyes as conspicuously as possible when this happens to show my disdain for those entitled clowns lol.

Looking forward to some pics of big wins that are forthcoming!

Dinner tonight was Michael Mina at Bellagio. I've wanted to eat here for a long time. It was one of the later places to open post-Covid.

I love fish and seafood. I wanted everything on the menu. They have two tastings, both had 4-5 things I love, one I dont care for. My captain said it's no problem to substitute from one tasting to another. So, that's what I did

    The two tasting menus
    And water

I had the Seasons tasting with substitutions.

20211126_185442.jpg 20211126_185413.jpg The Amouse had beets, chia, and I dont remember (edit, it's apple)

Bread is flatbread with hummus, a tapenade, and a tzatziki like cream

Amberjack Crudo... with little crispy strips of artichoke. Really tasty oil, with the tiniest kick. 20211126_191329.jpg

Substitution one... lobster pot pie instead of gnocchi.
Awesome. First thing with black truffle I ever liked. Huge chunks of lobster. Great pastry. Downsized version from the big MM showpiece Lobster Pot Pie.

    Substitution two
Phyllo crusted sole instead of swordfish
Delicious. Crispy crust, yet tender moist fish. Served on a crab version of Brandade.

One of the best meals I've ever had. Every bite. Not even a nitpick.

Reminded me of some of my first exposures to tastings back at Aqua and then Michael Mina in San Francisco.

Loved Bardot last night. I think I'm just wired for Mina

Oh... and I confessed stupidity to my captain... no charge for Fiji
