    My Trip Report

    No Thanksmisgivings

I haven't flown Tgiving holiday weekend this millennium. I was a bit apprehensive. Media cautioning about crowds. Busiest in two years.

    My experience so far
    • Beautiful weather SF Bay and LV. No traffic.
    • Despite warnings that I'd need to leave key at airport parking lot due to sold-out demand, I pulled right into a space.
    • Oakland airport wasn't busy at all. No lines for luggage check. Shortest TSA lines I've seen in 2021. Longest TSA pre, though... I had to wait two minutes for ID check, three more for screening.
    • First time in two years, plane had 30+ open seats. SWA on time departure and early arrival
    • LAS empty. In a cab with no wait.
    • Arrived Nomad early, pre assigned to Grande Suite, an upgrade to what was booked on offer!
    Feels like a fantastic start.

Nice! Some LAS lots were full as of around 9am, glad you had an easy trip. Now go clean out the chip trays!

I started slow, some brutal play. But I played a long time at VP. Earned like 20 drinks. I may not be able to walk. But I'm taking multiple-Fiji waters back to my room.

I should know better. All those VP drinks.... walking requires concentration.

Sitting in Best Friend to get food in my system, soak up booze..

I cant even remember what I just ordered.

    But Ban Chan just arrived

For someone who’s apparently trashed, your grammar and punctuation is better than quite a few sober people lol.

Wow I needed food to soak up booze.

Now that I can think.... there are things I want to try... but I'm full. Will logic or temptation win?

    Gojujang pots de creme.

I love pots de crème... so I ordered it despite waitperson saying he'd never seen it.

They served saying "chocolate mousse "? So who knows....

Wow.... it tastes like nothing. Like.... make an effort to engineer food to taste like nothing. Only miss I ever had at Best Friend... everything else was excellent.

OK . Am I going to ignore the yappy dog, losing its mind, in adjacent room? Nonstop high pitched yapping.

Back in my room, casino wasn't my friend today.

Highlight was time at VP. Can report to @Astribling that I walked away with six Fiji waters... and got another two and handed them to the people playing next to me.

I tried testing the new MLife program earning rates using suggested methods from https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/mlife-program-change.187659/ I took a screen shot of my MLife app. I played $100, $5 denom twenty plays. Cashed out (my $3.50 - woohoo!) waited a minute, and took another screenshot of app. Images on my battery-dead phone, will post later. But if I saw correctly, I earned some points, no express comps, and surprising to me, no tier credits. That made me wonder if app isn't quite as current as thought. I tried counting points on next slot, took a third screenshot, then chose to pay more attention to the cocktail hostess.

A little early, but I think I'm done for the day. Tomorrow need to play elsewhere - that's the benefit of MGM.

This is why I hate taking my dogs anywhere when we travel. They just aren’t good about being quiet. Even if I lived within driving distance to Vegas I would never take them with us and ruin someone else’s vacation. When we do have to overnight in a hotel with them in a road trip usually I will go out to get us food or whatever we need and leave my wife with the dogs in the room so that we don’t ruin someone else’s time. At final destination we will stay in an air bnb or VRBO that is a detached dwelling so we don’t ruin someone else’s vacation. Vegas trips or trips where we will be staying in a hotel at destination they get boarded every single time.
