Okay, I am Vegas bound on Sunday. Hubbie and I are newbies. We are very excited. We are staying 2 nights at the Orleans and 2 nights at MC. I have been reading these boards constantly since September, but I guess I should be taking notes because I don't remember alot of the stuff I read. (Duh) What makes me think me old brains will just remember it all??? I have reservations at Mon Ami Gabi and the spa at Orleans. The rest we plan to wing. We won't miss the Paris Breakfast buffet or the Bellagio breakfast. We'll also have dinner downtown one night when we do the Freemont Experience. We decided to rent a car. Any last minute tips, secrets, great finds??? Thanks in advance! [ December 15, 2004, 05:41 PM: Message edited by: Gogurl ]
At this point, I think you're probably set. Remember to take breaks when you're walking, you could walk forever if you're not careful. Downtown, stop into at least the Golden Gate for the old vegas atmosphere, and also Main Street Station. Play at least one table game you haven't before. See an Elvis. Don't worry, though, you can't see it all in one trip - just have a good time! [ December 15, 2004, 05:50 PM: Message edited by: doctor_al ]
hi Rhonda--sounds like a plan. I hope you get to see all that you're planning on. But--if you dont, no need to worry. I'm sure you'll have an awesome time. Bring comfy shoes. Dont worry/panic that you MAY MISS something. Chances are, you 'will'. But---good news, i bet whatever takes its place, will be COOL too!!! mK Am, i rambling ?
The car will be handy, especially while at the Orleans since it's just off the strip. I like the Orleans a lot! Their valet service is exceptional and your just downt he road off Arville from the Palms. If you get one extra thing to do, I'd recommend maybe going to check out Green Valley Ranch, it'll make good use of your rental car, it's a nice little drive and a very nice property and fun casino I think. At the Orleans I've enjoyed meals at Don Miguels (very good appetizer of chips, guacamole and salsa). I enjoyed beef fajitas there. At the courtyard cafe' they had good chinese food believe it or not and very good late night specials during the week for graveyard, best in Vegas. At the Monte Carlo, I'd give the MC brewpub a chance if you like your beer. I got a sampler and enjoyed it, Las Vegas Lite was my favorite which surprised me. I'm headed out sunday night as well. STaying at orleans and Barbary Coast I think. have fun.
For your dinner downtown, I'd recommend the Pullman Grille at Main Street Station. We never miss it...nice quiet atmosphere, great steaks, and everything else too.
