I am visiting May 31- June 8 , was looking to rent a car .
What happened to competitive Las Vegas Car Rental !!
I was shocked by the price quote. I use to pay around 180-250 for 7 day rental . Now all of them quoting in 450-525 range !
Seems like I will have to use Uber or Lyft.
    Any suggestions ?

As for why, read this thread:

I opted for U-haul. Read this thread.

Somebody posted this a week or two ago. I found these codes to be one of the best ones so far.

"Sure there are a million on the internet if you search.. Example being Avis A111390"

Another one for avis is A074800

Uber and Lyft are also in short supply so plan on waits at peak times. You may end up needing to take cabs.

Do you need any ID or membership to use the A074800? This cut the price by a significant amount, but I don't want to get there and not have whatever I need to redeem it for that price.

As long as I am able to use it, that's a huge savings.

Wowza, great price using this code! I'm wondering, why though? Is there additional requirements for this code?

This is the only info I could find on it:

    Rate Terms & Conditions
These rate terms apply for this specific rental.

If for any reason you change your rental parameters (pick up dates, times, etc.), those changes must follow these terms or your rate will also change.

    • Your rate was calculated based on the information provided. Some modifications may change this rate.

I have used this code several time in the past, it is a Citibank Leisure travel code. I have been asked once (possibly twice) to show my citibank card. If you have one, you will be fine, if you don't it could be a gamble.

Ok now I'm a little worried as I have no Citibank card. I just went through the entire terms and conditions for the reservation and no mention of Citibank; there is also no mention of it on the reservation page itself. They only reference having a valid ID and the card used to pre-pay the reservation. We'll see I guess.

Well, damn, had not seen this code. I always rent with Avis, but they were being obstinate and kept quoting me $230 for a 4-day rental, so I tried Hotwire and got it for $170 with Hertz. This code came in at $168, not much of a savings but I'd rather use Avis. Thanks.

Oh, and I have Citicard. Woohoo. Of course, there isn't a card I don't have, thanks to my ex-wife, LOL.

A google search will confirm what the code is, I received it years ago with my Citi card. I am not sure how worried you should be, as I mentioned I have only been asked once or twice in the 11? years I have been renting from Avis. You could just say "I don't carry that card on me" and they likely would just say ok and continue on.

Hey you have a great excuse here. You can say my Citi card is my Costco card and I don’t carry with me as wife and family have to use at Costco
