I'm usually Uber/Lyft's #1 fan, but yesterday I had a lyft driver try to pull one over on us. We were matched with Pedro in a Red Volkswagon Jetta. We could see he was circling T3 when the ride was initiated. We called when we were in the elevator to go up to valet level where the ride staging level is located, just as we've done dozens of times to confirm location, ETA, etc. As we approach the staging area, Pedro drives forward as to leave. My husband cuts him off so he's forced to stop. He says he cancelled the ride. He tries to play it off like it was done automatically, but Frank recognized his angle and confronted him on wrongfully collecting $5 no show fee. Pedro snidely thanked him for $5 and pulled away.

I contacted customer service immediately and the $5 charge has been refunded. It's a shame there are bad apples - thankfully, our next Lyft driver was a real pleasure.

Glad to hear they refunded the $5 fee, but sorry about the experience. I am curious if you're able to rate the driver after they cancel on you? If there was ever a case for less than 1 star.... :grrr:

After a few times, hopefully the system will flag the driver and can him.

Does anybody really think the entire Uber/Lift service won't turn into the taxi long haul experience eventually? Maybe not as bad, but still...There will be good, honest drivers and then the rest.

The good thing about Uber and Lyft is that it is easier to hold bad drivers accountable than it is with a taxi company.
