    My Trip Report

I left San Diego at 4am on Tuesday to try and make it to the Las Vegas airport to pick up my friend at 9:50. He called to say his plane was leaving late...thank God...because I wasn't going to make it on time. I got to the airport around 10:30 and his plane was delayed even longer...which suited me fine since I got 3 hours of sleep that night. So I slept in the airport until he called to say he had arrived.

Back on the road at 12ish to drive to the El Cortez. It dawned on me that everytime I've been downtown, I've been drunk in a cab or on the bus and really had no idea where I was going. After about 14 left turns, we pulled into the hotel. Heeding Doc_Al and Ross' recommendations, I got a tower room. It was a very nice room...although the bathroom looked ummm....recycled.

We were in dire need of drinks since it was already 12:30 so we pulled up a stool at the bar to play video poker and drink some Morgan n' Cokes. We didn't do too well, (okay, I didn't do too well...my buddy played on $20 until we left) but the bartender brought us drinks faster then we could drink them...so that's okay.

6 or 7 Morgans later we decided to stroll downtown. First stop: La Bayou for a hop on the grain train...which I knew was bad because that's how you start a drinking binge...not end one. My buddy's not too keen on frozen drinks, so we walked into the 4 Whores (4 Queens) and my buddy got a yard of Long Island Iced Tea for $14. We stumbled around playing a little here and there, and 2 hours later realized that we had already been in every casino. So after McDonalds, we went back to the room. I must have been feeling pretty good because I drunk dialed everyone in my cell phone. Sorry Becky!

After a quick shower, we decided to hop on the bus and go down to Sluts O' Fun...I still can't remember why. He jumped on a Wheel Of Fortune machine and I jumpedd on a Blackjack table. Next thing I know he brings over a jaeger shot. Woo HOO! This man loves jaeger as much as I do, so together we are a dangerous combination.
He hit for $252 on his slots so he joined me at the tables. Then the jaeger really started to fly. Many rounds of shots were bought for the whole table...
I cashed out with the hundy I bought in and we decided we were too drunk to stand so we should take a cab back.
Here's me yelling "I got's the pink chip, bitches!"

    In bed at 8:30pm. Wrecked!

Wednesday the first half of the crew showed up. We switched to the Flaming-O. Much of the day was spent at the pool recovering. The daylight hours are a little hazy...

One it got dark, we decided to go ride Speed at the Sahara. We took the monorail down...we must have been pretty loud because everyone kept staring at us. We got on the ride ($10)...that is one smooth rollercoaster! Freaking Awesome. The boys wanted to go gambling so I took the girls to the Stratosphere . We grabbed a beer for the road and went our seperate ways. It's really not a bad walk from the sahara. Of course we had to stop and have our picture taken at the wedding chapel on the way.

We bought the ride package and made our way to the line to get up top. HOLY FREAKING LINE, BATMAN! I think we waited about an hour just to get on the elevator.

We wanted to save the Big shot for last, so we went on the 2 new rides first.
SUCKED! I don't recommed the spinny one if you're drinking or hungover. :vomit:
We saw the line to get up to the Big shot and bailed on the whole thing...
Jumped in a cab and met the boys at the HO. They had a band going...pretty good too...or maybe I just think I liked them because we got on the dance floor and the girls made a sandwich out of me...which is always nice. Paid 6 bucks for 2 of the biggest Jaeger-bombs I've ever seen in my life and wandered around trying to find the guys. They were in line for Ho-dogs. I did a running tackle and told them if they never listen to me ever again, listen to me now...DON'T EAT THE DOGS! So we jumped in a cab and went home to the Flaming-O. One of the girls went to bed so I left the others to go play poker. The dealers remembered me from 3 months ago...which I don't know is good or bad...but we had a great time telling jokes and making fun of each other. I don't think the rest of the table liked it much though. :haha:
I kept telling the dealers to kick me off the table at 4am so I could get some decent sleep. Yeah right....8am I step out of the elevator and hear laughter coming from my room. CRAP! Everyone decided to have the after-bar in my room. I said screw it, stripped down and crawled into bed.

Great report so far Larry!!! The room at Elco does look better than decent. I see you had the "Strip View" :D . Looks like Strat is reeling them in. Just another reason to avoid that hole. Big Shot is the only thing that I like about the place but I've done that 7 times so I won't be waiting in any lines like that. Can't wait for the rest...

    Only 3 more posts...

I was hoping the bathrooms would've gotten a little TLC with the renovation, sounds like not...

    ALWAYS.

That is some quality buffoonery right there... well done.

I can't believe that is a picture of an ELCO room! The view, yes, but the room....

    spot the yardlong

I like after the second picture you say you're in dire need of drinks, yet in the first pic I see an empty yardlong. Uh-huh. Not in town ten minutes and the boozing is taking it's toll.

I can't believe the line for The STRAT elevator. That's freakin' insane.

Gettin' drunk at slots-a-fun. I see I'm not the only one who's lost a few brain cells to that place.

Drunk on the rollercoaster at the Sahara. Pure comedy.

Nice spot on the empty Yard-Long Don.

I think Slot 'O Fun is one of my new favorite places. Cheap drinks, Cheap Jaeger, good Blackjack rules...

My buddy liked it so much, he woke up early one day to take the bus down from the Flmaing-O and play there early one morning...and get his kid a $10 Slots 'O Fun t-shirt that I drunkenly forgot I had a free coupon for......Whoops...
