Trips to Las Vegas

Went to KC for a 3 day weekend with my wife and son. Met up with my friend Dean and his family who drove down from Des Moines. Stayed just outside Worlds of Fun theme park which is also just 2 minutes from Ameristar Casino. I have played at Ameristar a few times before and really like it compared to the boats near home. Anyhow the long and short of the trip was I played craps for 45 minutes on Thursday and won $420 and played for 45 minutes on Friday while waitng for a table at the Great Plains steakhouse and won $210. I love a hot table!

Coasters at WOF are ok. Mamba is great with its over 200' drop, but the others were less than average in my book(read too rough).

The whole fam damily had a great time. Thanks to Ameristar for picking up 60% of the tab.

Marty, count your blessings that they removed the worst piece of s(teel) coaster that used to be there. Orient Express should have been named Emergency Room Express based on the video I saw on-ride.

Say what you will CK, but us life-long Kansas Citians were very disappointed with the removal of the Orient Express from WoF. It was one of few remaining rides that I can remember from my childhood trips there with grandma and the cousins. The place seemed to go down hill after the Hunt family sold it off to that corporation.

You will be missed.

I totally agree, Marty. Ameristar is my preferred casino in this area. :D It's a little farther drive for me than the Chicago area, but well worth it.

Nice to see they could pick up some of your tab.

CK,
I can't believe it could get worse than Timberwolf, the wood coaster at WoF. That was BRUTAL!

Angy,
I find the layout of Ameristar quite friendly for the whole family. I normally would not take my 12 year old any where near a casino, but the way it is set up, kids dont have to get any where near the casino floor. $5 craps with 10x odds at 5:30 pm on a Friday doesn't hurt either.
