    My Trip Report

Thank You for the info. Just to give the quick highlights. No drinking or gambling on this trip, just the corny touristy things you do when you have kids. Anyway, got to Vegas then Luxor. In our 6 days we did: Shark Reef at Mandalay, Gondulas and Madame Toussauds at Venetian, Lion Exhibit and Jay-Z concert at MGM, Imax Theatre and Museum at Luxor, Siegfried and Roy Garden Exhibit at the Mirage, a bus trip to the Grand Canyon and much needed swimming and relaxing at the Oasis Pool. The main places we ate were: Hard Rock, Magaritaville, Bahama Breeze, a Buffet at the Luxor and our favorite; the Buffet at Wynn. Then of course many trips to Mcd's, Nathans and Subway. Got almost 300 pictures. So there it is. Can't wait to go back next year to finish doing the other things we planned to do, also my sister wants to go. Again, Thank You!:nworthy:

How was the Jay-Z concert? I saw him a few years ago and it was amazing.

The Grand Canyon itself was beautiful! All the colors and the different views we got to see was like looking at a picture perfect postcard. Now the bus ride there was a little different. It was a 4 hour ride to and from but the ride to the GC was made too long by too many stops. First the bus was 20 mins late coming to our hotel to pick us up, then we had to stop at someplace to register. Then after a couple hours riding we stopped, not for our scheduled lunch but just for a break, which was understandable, I guess if you needed to potty. But then we made another stop for the lunch that was included. Then we got to the Canyon after that. It felt kind of rushed, especially after the bus driver said he'd have to leave you if you weren't back at the time you were supposed to be there. And geuss, what? He did leave someone, but after he dropped us at our next stop, he went back for them. :thumbsup:I will definitely go and see the Canyon again, but I will do my own driving as well as be staying more than a few hours. We want to go and stay a few days next time.

You are so right. And I am already planning, because next Feb my ex may be taking the kids on a vacation to Hawaii and if that happens, me and sister and maybe hubby may take a childless Vegas trip. Thanks for the suggestion.

It was fine not doing the usual things. We had a great time. For the kids it was their first trip there so that probably made it more exciting for them. Glad to see Vegas can be kid friendly. Although on one picture that we were taking of the Eifel Tower from a distance with us in front of it but in the background is a billboard with a scantily clad dancer's rear end...:ssst:So that won't go in the family photobook. :eek:But yes the kids did like Vegas and want to do it again.

The Jay Z was great. Four hours of entertainment, who wouldn't like that.
